Saw the replies to my idea of nutting up and paying $100m for a striker that can make a difference.

Some said that to be a serious club we can't get fleeced by high numbers, did Arsenal get fleeced with paying for Rice. I would argue a proven striker, like Kane but not necessarily him, would improve United more than Rice will the Gunners.

I realize the mistakes we've made in the past, other managers. I don't think anyone believes EtH isn't serious.

My point, I guess, is that I'm not for overpaying for a squad member but I have no problem with paying for a proven goal scorer that will make a BIG difference in this team.

What age is he. Is he going to pick up more injures. Has to come in to this.

I'm not convinced by any of the 100m strikers.

Kane's age and wage demands mean that he'd have to be a top player for at least 4-5 season to make it worthwhile. While he has been a player who has suffered with injuries in the past.

Osimhen I'm just not convinced would be a top level EPL striker. His touch is inconsistent, he seems to rely a little too much on being physically stronger and quicker than players in Serie A. That won't be the case in the EPL. I'm also not sure he does enough off the ball to warrant carrying him for the whole game. I genuinely don't think he'd outscore Rashford in the EPL.

Which other 100m strikers are there? The market seems pretty sparse to me. You are either looking at players who are a notch down from the very best, or young players with potential.

I like kane and he would score a lot of goals, but at the price he will cost in a fee and wages it's too much money, we need to find an up and coming player, the problem is most clubs want kane money.

Offcourse arsenal got fleeced on rice. Never in a million years worth the money.

Coachusa, I think most of us have no issue with spending big for the right player.

However, you're ignoring the reality that we don't have unlimited funds, and we need players in other positions too.

Spending 100m on Kane is all well and good, but if we spend that much on a striker, will we still have enough left to get in other players we need, like a backup GK or a DM?

Is a striker, however good he is now, worth leaving us weak in other areas? Especially when he is 30 and has limited long term value.

For that sort of price we could get a striker like Hojlund or RKM, Amrabat at DM AND probably a backup keeper.

Get kane signed, he is the only player worth the money and is also the only player that gives us an outside chance at winning something significant. I'm sure our new 300 billion owners would really miss it that much.

Ofcourse Kane is worth it.

Is it better to sign a first team player, that we obviously need, or 2 backup players (gk and dm) who might or might not start. I understand someone like Amrabat, but is signing a back up GK like Suzuki (? ) that important? Couldn't Kovar do the job? Couldn't we loan someone?

And how much would Hojlund actually cost? Rumours go from 60£ to 80£ milion. Is he really that good?

Kane has 4 seasons in him at least, if we bring him, we may look to bring someone like Ferguson or Hojlund next year perhaps.

And as injuries go, he isn't more or less injury prone than let's say Rashford. He isn't like Bruno or Salah who seem never to get injured, but he isn't a Martial either, far from it.

On the other topic, we were discussig the quality of chances and that we need striker who would finish off our chances, but hey, let's say no to a proven top scorer.
Bayern must be crazy to want him, Spurs must be crazy wanting to keep him!

I know money is tight, but if we were to make enough sales, I would like to see a 110£ mil bid.

Feels like we pivoted this TF window and switched to signing Onana and Amrabat instead of Kane/ Osimhen and Rabiot on a free (while keeping DDG) . But maybe we push to make a late bid for Kane later in the window.

Of course, there is also the possibility that Kane doesn't want to play for us. He has not pushed too hard publically. Rumours now are that he would like BM, although that could be from either Tottenham or BM side and not from player. Seems to have gone very quite for us, so either we are plotting a late tempter or we have moved on.

If he wants to join or not, that's a different story.

Perhaps he would say he wants to come, if we were officially in for him. But at the moment, only BM is interested in him.

Arsenal had their pants pulled down with rice, same with Enzo at Chelsea.
Rice is a great player, but this kind of money used to be for game changers, goalscorers, creators, now it seems everyone is a hundred mil player.

Shappy again with the Kane injury myth ?‍♂️ he’s averaged about 35 Premier League appearances per season since his breakout season. Where has this myth come from?

He should be the number 1 choice and he’d fit perfectly into the system. He would genuinely transform the side, he’s reliable both in terms of goals and availability. Something we have missed from our mercenary forwards over the past 10 years.
