Keeping our eye on the youth, young Kai Rooney seems to be doing well. After being top scorer for our U12 last season he recently scored in the 2-0 win over Man City in the U13 National Cup North final to set-up a meeting with Arsenal in the national final.

We know what Wayne was like, but has anyone seen Kai actually play?

I’ve not but seen a couple of his goals.

Apparently, from someone I’d speak to fairly regular has a few contacts academy wise with us and says there’s another kid (I won’t name him due to his age) who the club think is one the best talents they’ve ever had at that age in the same team.

Caolan 2

Thanks, wow, that is some level they are talking about given our history. Seen many youth being highly rated and don’t make it though, that mental and physical jump to adult football can be difficult. Let’s hope they are right. No doubt his name will come out if he stars, the press like “wonder kids”.

Indeed Red Man, especially if they can keep him as his father has had him at a few clubs already. I think he is the year below Rooney's cub, but I am not 100% on that one.

Shea Lacey is another one to keep an eye on.
