Looks like Zaha is looking to move from Crystal Palace. Think he'd do well in a side like Leicester. Whilst he will always go down as being a 'nearly man' Rodgers does play some good stuff and think he can cement Leicester as a Europa League qualifying team regularly. Any of the Eds / posters know our sell-on clause details? 25% to us of any transfer fee Palace get for Zaha?

{Ed002's Note - As I recall it is on a sliding scale.}

A question for Ed1

Zaha or Grealish? Who do you think is a better player.
Both have the reputation of being "most fouled" and also milking any contact made. Both are the main attacking threats at a weaker side.

{Ed001's Note - I suppose the main thing is how they are intended to be used. Zaha has more pace, so a deep-lying team looking for a player to hit opponents on a quick break would be more suitable for Zaha. A team looking to maintain possession would be better looking at Grealish, though mainly because he will mess about for ages on the ball going nowhere and keep possession that way. To be honest, neither are good enough as they are for United. They would both need to improve their end product to be anywhere near good enough, so you would be picking on potential.

If it was on the way they are now, rather than potential, you would have to say Zaha would be more of a threat to opposition defences, simply because he plays higher up the pitch. Even when they play the same position, Zaha plays it by attacking opponents, while Grealish tends to drop off looking to get on the ball. Grealish wants it in similar areas to Pogba and Bruno, while Zaha would be in the area of Rashford and Martial or Greenwood.

Both can be a bit lazy off the ball as well. A press would be a problem with either, as they tend to be a bit half-hearted with their work tracking back and often get caught watching the ball rather than covering the players behind them. As Grealish is Villa captain and playing for the team he supports, you would have to think there is little chance that is going to improve if he joins another team as well! If he can't chase back for the team he loves, when we all know a player tends to have an extra 5% to their game for the team they support, would you expect him to produce more in another team's shirt?

If I had to have one in my squad I would prefer to have Zaha, he has a much better lifestyle for an athlete, he is a better person to have around the dressing room. Grealish would rather be rolling around in the gutter drunk all summer, while Zaha will take care of himself. When you have a squad with younger, possibly impressionable players in it, the last person you want in it is Grealish, when you could have someone like Zaha, who tends to be more professional. Both train hard while there, but lifestyle away from the coaching staff is just as important imo. So, all in all, I would have to say Zaha, though I have very grave doubts about them both.}

I wonder if Grealish were not English, would there be any interest from Utd? He is a great player and fits in the profile of wanting young hungry British talent. Not convinced on his work ethic myself. Fair enough he kept them up with a good goal, but was largely ineffective since lockdown.

{Ed001's Note - to be fair, he was carrying an injury since restart, but I would personally have to say that his lifestyle is likely to have contributed to him picking up the injury in the first place.}

Here's hoping that grealish can change his attitude and lifestyle.

I have heard he is like that from a number of people now ed.

{Ed001's Note - we have all seen the pics of him lying in the gutter and stood with mismatched shoes during lockdown. Unfortunately they are actually representative of his lifestyle in a large way. He does work hard in training, but at some point that amount of drink does have a negative effect, no matter how hard you work to counteract it.}

Ed001, United are clearly looking as a creative midfielder as per the links to Grealish. You are a good judge of a player. In your opinion who do you think would be the best fit for United?

My preference would be Donny van de Beek, just a very classy player capable of playing as a No.8 and a No.10 so could cover both Pogba and Bruno.

{Ed001's Note - I think you have missed out on the right guy - Havertz.}

Ed001, Havertz does look like he is going to be a top top player. Very few players can play as many positions to such a high level.

I would be concerned though with having too many young players who need game time to progress. Pogba if he stays and Bruno will be first choice centrally. With Rashford first choice on the left, Greenwood looking like he is ready to play every week, and the possibility of signing Sancho I would wonder where someone like Havertz would fit in.

What's your view on Todd Cantwell and Christopher Nkunku? Both have caught my eye and if we are looking for a CAM/ LM then I'd have both over Grealish all day long.

To be honest Ed001, we have Bruno and assuming we get Sancho, when fit Bruno Sancho Rashford Martial will be the front 4 so I don't think Kai Havertz would have joined to be a squad player. It was either him or Bruno.

We need someone to rotate with Bruno. I'm not convinced Grealish is that guy though.

Asked from those photos ed001, I have heard from a few people up his way that he is a disaster and needs to change pronto should be wish to have a prolonged football career at the top.

{Ed001's Note - that is defo going to be a problem for him, he is going down the wrong path.}
