KIngEric, down the page you say we will finish 6th but 1 more signing changes that "completely"? Who do you think we will sign? Messi?

We have strengthened our two weakest positions and our defence now looks solid. CM looks our weakest area but with McT improving rapidly we may end the season with him as a guaranteed starter.

We also have some of the best young forwards around with Rashford, Greenwood and dare I say it even Martial looking sharp.

1 more CM or RW will no doubt improve us but I don't understand how fans see things in black and white so easily. The fact is we are all guessing and I question why some of our fans bother supporting the team if they head into every season stating facts like "we will definitely finish out side of the top 6" (United Addict), "We will finish behind Wolves, Everton and Leicester", "Ole will be sacked by christmas" and other ridiculous statements which are thrown around as absolute facts. How can you throw out such statements and be so negative towards the club before a ball has even been kicked?

We may see Greenwood chip in with 10+ goals this season. Rashford with 20. Martial with 15. We are seeing goals spread more evenly through teams which is proved by multiple golden boot winners last season.

I can't wait for Sunday. The football in pre-season, although only friendless, has been much better to watch. We have a much stronger defence than we've had for 5 years, our youngsters are looking very promising and we kick off with a blockbuster against Chelsea. Bring it on!

Yeah Wazza. That's the silly logic for some fans. They just want some fancy new name.
I would rather wait, so that we get the player with the right profile. A prime example is Sancho.

There are so many positives so far.
Maguire brings a big presence in both boxes and will be goal threat from set pieces. He will also allow Lindelof to occupy his favored right sided CB spot.

AWB is solid defensively. The right sided attacker will therefore have much more freedom to attack.

Daniel James brings devasting pace and energy to the team.

McTominay seems like a direct replacement for Herrera.
Fred could settle in similar to Lindelof.

Moreover, Ole and the coaching staff believe in the likes of Greenwood, Chong and Gomes.

I feel we have gone back to our grassroots by signing british talents, giving opportunities to youth and attacking play style.
These are signs of lessons learnt from past seasons.
And their seem to be a clear direction we are heading to.
Isn't this what we need?

So Wazza, others saying that we may not finish top 6 is not fact but then you saying Rashford will score 20 is fact. When was the last time he did that? Martial 15, the question is will he even turn up for 15 games or will he be sulking? Greenwood may chip in with 10 goals but then again he may not. So nothing is fact right now and it is not black or white rather a very shady grey. The reason that one signing (in the right position) will improve the team is that he will take the creation onus away from Pogba because on his off days, we tend to drop points and Pogba has more off days in a season than goals from Rashford.

With our defence we may ship in lesser goals than last season but with Lukaku out, we are short of 20 goals and i don't see where those are coming from.

How is that a reply to one sentence? I have covered lines from all your paragraphs buddy. I covered your forward line of Rashford, Martial and Greenwood. I admitted to a better defence although i wonder what happens to Dalot. I answered which player or type makes us stronger. So, in essence i am not in for a debate, just gave my opinion on where i see us stand.

And you used my name in your post so you picked out one poster to start a debate. Good talk bro. :)

UA, I’m not saying Rashford will definitely score 20 goals. I’m hoping and speculating. It could happen, and I’d much rather go into a season in hope rather than telling everyone we are doomed.

I don’t understand why some “supporters” even bother watching us play, the only reason I can think is that you want to say I told you so if we somehow finish outside of the top 6.
I really can’t get my head around that outlook, wanting us to fail.

KE yes I did pick out one part of your post and it was perhaps u fortunate timing but it adds to all of the experts on here telling everyone that we are going to finish behind Everton. You say 1 more signing changes everything, but we’ve already made 3 good signings (imo) and yes another will surely improve us but I don’t get people writing us off while talking in absolutes. Top 4 should be the target this season and we should be backing the team throughout the campaign.

Wazza, would it make a difference if i said that we will win the treble this season? I don't go to the stadium to cheer for our team as i live 2000 miles away and my comments on this page do not make a difference to the team on the ground. I hope we do but i know we wont. So it's quite simple. My hopes and my expectations differ for the season. Now i am not saying that we will finish below other teams but we may similar to you saying about Rashford, s goal tally.

You need to calm down and stop calling out people who do not share your thoughts. We all hope for the best but somewhere deep down we know where we stand at the moment. So you can keep your head where it is and stop trying to put it around things that you don't see. You surely read what the Eds have to say about our current predicament, right? Did you read what Ed002 said about our appointment of Ole? Did you read what other Eds have said about our team?

No facts expressed there. The clue is in the word, 'may', and the use of commas.
