Beast,

It doesn't surprise me you saw this speech as something bad, myself and it would appear most of the media, and all my friends I have spoken to, thought it was absolutely fantastic. He has amazing charisma and the players loved it.

The player of the year awards are for the players to relax and look back at the season with a bit of fun, your line about not laughing because we had a bad season is ridiculous, you sound like if you saw Rooney after a game we had lost with his family and he was enjoying himself you would have a go at him because how could he smile after a defeat. The awards are a chance for the players to let their hair down and enjoy themselves, not sit and think about games we could have won and lost, I am sure they have done that enough, life does not just revolve around football.

At your Christmas party at work if you have been struggling all year do you spend the night sat there doing work or let you hair down and worry about anything else tomorrow?

I found the speech quite inspiring, we have a manager with charisma and personality who can hold a room and make people laugh, the players clearly respect him, it was good to see.

Well what a surprise , Beast slagging off the manager.
Quite predictable really.

All we need now is for JMB to come on and say "I agree with you 100% Beast.

Betty,

JMB hasn't commented yet but I can just imagine what is coming.

I was genuinely really happy to see him do this. We as a club have had a rough two seasons and this man is showing passion and energy to push us right back up to the top.

I could only take positives from it, but I guess I always look at the positives in life.

Let your hair down abit Beast, we have got what we needed this season, enjoy the summer and then get back to supporting the lads onto our 21st title!

It's all getting quite silly now this attention seeking imo, to begin with I thought it was just a vendetta but it seems it's more than that.

Lol betty I totally agree mate ;)

How anyone could take last night's speech as anything more than light hearted fun is beyond me.

Christ on a bike.

Children hey.

GDS2 - I have ran my own business for over 10 years, I was young when I started it and made the mistake of getting drunk with my employees at the Xmas party and it took a long time to re-gain the respect I initially had. This isn't exactly the same, but Xmas parties are for the staff not the boss, the boss of a small company can sometimes do it and not lose something, but of Man Utd after this season, it just made me feel uncomfortable.

This is all orchestrated to be a good thing for the media, our PR machine is in full throttle so anybody saying a manager of Man Utd shouldn't be acting like this seems like a bore - LVG shows his human side, so what, it is just as annoying as his professional side. It wasn't hilarious either, it was just surprising and people feel obligated to laugh, what was so funny? Him telling people to clap at a Saxaphone player? His inability to make a 30 second point in less than 5 minutes, a pre-planned fist pump shoe horning in a Rooney tale to get applause before he gets to the punch line? I genuinely don't know what was so funny about it, if one of my bosses had done that in the past they would have been booed off!

I must not have seen the bits that everyone is getting in stitches about!

I also don't get why this party is held before the end of the season, but that's another issue.

8.) 20 May 2015
20 May 2015 10:16:36
Wasn't 90% of his speech talking about the games we won and lost GDS2?

9.) 20 May 2015
20 May 2015 10:24:11
The only one attention seeking was the manager Chris.?

I suppose I just see the world through different eyes to the masses, oh well. I won't lose any sleep about it and won't let my standards slip just to try and kid myself that all is well with things.

Hopefully JMB will agree with me and a few others that dare to go against the tide, I can't believe I'm the only person alive that isn't on board with this being hilarious! I suppose that's why Mrs, Browns Boys and Miranda keep getting renewed.

Can I just say Beast, I was there last night and following the awards ceremony, all the first team left without signing anything or any sort of interaction with the fans. LVG stayed for well over an hour, took the time to have pictures with hundreds of people, signed autographs etc. the man is a legend!

12.) 20 May 2015
20 May 2015 10:33:11
Beast,

Not really, it was a light hearted look back at the season, not pulling to pieces all of the games and getting upset because we didn't play very well.

You are clutching at straws beast, you are the ONLY person I have heard talk about this that didn't enjoy it, literally one person out of 20-30 newspapers and articles, ex players and 20-30 friends and colleagues and only you didn't find it funny. Does that tell you something?

It is before the end of the season because the players finish on Sunday and a lot of them go back to their home countries etc, this has pretty much always happened even in seasons we have won things, did you like anything about the awards mate, or anything in life in general?

13.) 20 May 2015
20 May 2015 10:38:06
Actually girls not that I was reading to much into it but I thought it was a little cringeworthy the way he handled himself but having said that at least it showed he can be in a light mood once in a while. Let's be frank, like Jose LVG loves the spotlight. We have seen it in his media press conferences this year and again tonight but just doesn't pull it off the way Mourinho does.

Free bar all round lads we finished 4th with no European football this year, no silverware, with the highest wage bill and expenditure in the league. But hey that doesn't matter because we had possession!

14.) 20 May 2015
20 May 2015 10:58:40
JMB, why look at this so negatively?

We went from playing dog S#!t football last season and finishing 7th, losing to most top 5 teams and overall a crap season.

We have now started to recover from that horrible year, with more attractive football (Yes it needs improvements in the attacking departments, but that shall come in time), more points from the top 5 games and also qualified for the UCL.

It takes a few seconds to destroy a skyscraper, but many many years to rebuild it.

Moyes destroyed the club and the confidence of the players. LVG is now on the track of pushing us back to where we were pre-moyes.

Lighten up, this season was all about getting UCL. Yes it was a tougher season than usual, but it's a massive improvement on last year. And I am confident the progress will continue into next season.

20 May 2015 11:22:11
Who's up for beast throwing a Xmas party this year?. it's not bring a bottle though it's bring a sleeping bag :)

C'mon lighten up people we achieved a European spot.

Roll on next season.

20 May 2015 11:25:45
weggy
im not sure i agree with all that .
we where poor last season but to be honest i don't think we have been great this season.
we are 5 points better of than last season so we have got more points but we also spent 150 mill in the summer.

i think 4 has papered over a lot of cracks to be honest .

people judge things differently but i find the "we are 4th so we have done well" a bit strange as this is based on what the teams around you are playing like as much as your own form.

when i look at our actual performances over the full season i honestly haven't been that impressed .
i have said before i would of took 5th but playing well and improving over 4th and playing our current standard.

city chelsea and arsenal have been better but thankfully the scouse have been crap.

just a talking point our points tally this season would of seen us finish 6th last year, but maybe its been a harder league this year ?

17.) 20 May 2015
20 May 2015 11:03:54
Too much self importance and little substance to back it up.

Chris - Funnily enough I have stopped them now, my staff need to work harder if they want to be rewarded, a party isn't mandatory, it is given when deserved!

JMB - Nice one for backing me up. I wish more people actually listened to it before sheeping it.

GDS2 - I just saw an 8min clip, I didn't enjoy that and apparently that was the best thing. Life in general is a blast for me, only irritating thing is what is happening to Man Utd and the standards of some of our fans who are slipping into desperado zone.

Ed - staying with the fans is a nice touch, hardly what I would class as justifying "Legendary status", but I suppose when compared to the players it is easily done, likewise when compared to Moyes. How about we compare LVG to SAF and see how legendary he is then?

18.) 20 May 2015
20 May 2015 11:06:20
Last season was abysmal. £150million and paying higher wages than Chelsea and City later this season hasn't been much better. We should have been within touching distance of top spot. I am embarrassed to see so many folk celebrate 4th.

21.) 20 May 2015

Maybe we should have our own end of season awards:

Most obvious thing to happen all season award nominations are:

Beast, for being very busy at work and going away during the 6 game unbeaten run.

Beast, for not enjoying a speech that everybody else enjoyed

JMB, for turning a light hearted speech into an issue about league position and possession.

Good luck to all involved.

Although LVG has yet to convince me that he is the right manager, I think we all need to understand the real reason that Beast hates him so much.

Let me tell you a story, long long ago in a land far far away in the magical kingdom of Longsight a boy was born called Danny. Danny was strong and fast and brave, but a witch cursed him by taking away his balance and his ability to score goals on a regular basis. But Danny wasn't deterred and fought tooth and nail to become a knight at the theater of dreams in the kingdom of Trafford.

Although Danny was more of a squire than a real knight, he was happy for a time: polishing the armor, sharpening the weapons and cleaning out the stables. And Danny's pluck and moxy did not go unnoticed and he won admirers all across the land. Chief among his admirers was the angry Beast who loved Danny with all his heart and saw in him a true hero who could help Trafford recapture the chalice of Champions. Beast adorned his abode with opulent paintings of Danny and created a small shrine in his back garden. One day, Beast exclaimed, the world will see how truly great Danny is and a big parade will be held.

However, Danny soon grew tired of his role, and began to seek a true knight's role. Why should Sir Wayne and Sir Persie get all the glory, Danny moaned, am I not as great as they? But what of the curse, his friends pleaded? Scoff to the curse, Danny replied, I can be a great knight without balance or scoring prowess, just you wait and see! So Danny burst into the throne room of the new king Louis and demanded to be recognised as a real knight. The court laughed and wise king Louis banished poor Danny to the lesser kingdom of Emirates where Danny soon returned to his role of diligent squire to greater knights.

Beast, however, was despondent and vowed revenge on king Louis for banishing his Danny. He swore a blood oath and was transformed into a troll. He is now fastened to his fate of trolling king Louis every day, while weeping at the foot of his now obsolete shrine. Oh what a tragic tale is this.

Jmb were the aforementioned teams affected by the injuries we were?

24.) 20 May 2015
20 May 2015 11:35:11
Beautiful Danny.

I know he hasn't been great, but he would have contributed a hell of a lot more to our team than Sir Persie or Sir Falcao this season, he would also have suited the 4-3-3 a lot better. I think he will have been more effective for our other players to play as well.

I possibly over egged how effective he would be at Arsenal. He is one of the numerous reasons I don't like our manager though as you say, it showed short-sightedness, favouritism and a lack of class what he said.

GDS2 - I missed one game as I was without internet, now that turns into 6?

25.) 20 May 2015
20 May 2015 11:39:25
And an award for you GDS for being the most unbelievably biased and blindsighted fan in Europe.

Danny I am sure what I just read was supposed to be funny but it might possibly be the worst thing I have read on here. Wow.
