With Champions League Spot Almost Secured we will need a better and bigger Squad to Play
all the competitions, We have to Agree that we have a very thin squad and somewhere not playing CL
this year also helped us.

So We do have few decent Squad players in Nani, Cleverly, Hernandez, Lingard, Powell(don't rate him too much)
which can be used next year.

So Apart from our Marquee signings we do need to look at few more players that will bring in more depth
to our squad.

what do you guys think??

We need to make 5/6 signings, with most of those coming into the first team, We need a RB, CB, 2 CM(one to be Carricks long term replacement and one to replace Fellaini in the line up with a better ball player), and winger all first choice and maybe a striker to give us a different option up front.

That means 4/5 of the current first team will become squad players, we don't need to bring in squad players, we need to bring in top class first choice options that will make our current first team players into squad players. Players such as Valencia, Blind, Jones, Fellaini and Young should be our squad players.

I think if you were looking at players to add experience and depth to the squad, not necessarily guaranteed to start every week, you could add Khedira, De Jong and Alves for nothing in terms of transfer fees. I would also suspect that their wages could be covered by off loading Nani and RVP/Falcao.

I also believe that Chiellini becomes a free agent at the end of the season, again not bad in terms of packing out the depth of the squad. I know it would be unrealistic to bring all these in, but to answer your question, great experience for minimal outlay, then Ed can blow his transfer kitty, plus any additional funds from sales and before you know it, the guy is a genius!!

Nani, Cleverly and Hernandez will all leave. Powell has not lived up to the hype although a loan at Leicester was not a good move. Assuming we bring in 3 or 4 big hitters we will then have enough depth with those that are displaced supplemented by some of the youngster.

I can see ADM, RVP and Falcao going in the summer that would free up the thick end of £1m a week in wages alone. As Shappy said we need players for the 1st team thus substantially strengthening the squad.

I feel we need a ST, RW, 2xCM (one for long term Carrick replacement and one box to box ball player), RB and CB (left footed).

There is however a slight issue, how do you buy a top ST when you have Rooney? A top ST will want games something they aren't going to get with Rooney in the squad.
