Lazio have shut down any chance of SMS leaving this summer. Leaving only Tielemans as a possible option in midfield who is still available and likely to leave his current club.

I'm not buying the Osimhen rumours at all. He'd be too much. I expect Ronaldo to leave, possibly to Chelsea is Barcelona continue to make the PEA deal difficult. There aren't really any other strikers I could see the club moving for.

Apparently Southampton are pushing for Gakpo now and I don't see us challenging them for the deal.

Think it was Antony or Gakpo. Time will tell if we haven't missed out on a gem there though. Osimhen is apparently a United fan which is always good to hear. But the numbers involved just don't make any sense. Seems we would still be paying a big chunk of Ronaldo's wages and commit to buy Osimhen for 100m next summer.

Just shows to me a) how badly Ronaldo wants to get out and b) how far his stock has fallen when Mendes is scrabbling around in the final days of the window trying to move his client to Napoli or Sporting as they are the only ones seemingly remotely interested in him.

And the morale of the story chaps and chapesses is: don't go back with the ex ;)

Would like to see us get Depay. We need extra attackers, especially if Ronaldo leaves and Depay is a better player than Gakpo right now. He'd be a better alternative to Martial than Rashford who is hopeless in the 9.

I’ve heard a few bits regarding United ‘exploring’ the possibility of bringing back Depay. Not sure if there’s any truth in this or whether it’s just an obvious link. Maybe it’s a last minute one on the back burner in case Ronnie gets his wish.

There is a lack of young quality strikers in the market overall.
I personally am not against getting a stop gap and someone like Gakpo or Sesko (not anymore) in the future that can be good in a couple of years.
100m for Osimhen feels mad to me. Without even us being sure if he can play ETH football. I'd rather us paid a little extra and get Joao Felix who actually is some player. Or pay the same money for a lautaro Martinez. But not Osimhen surely.

Mbappe effectively went on loan to PSG for a season with a commitment to buy. Maybe we could do similar with Osimhen, assuming he is 'the one'. Serious wonga either way but we will need a serious player to lead the line this season if not next.

It's not so much a swap being muted it's us paying a kings ransom and dumping Ronaldo on them as well, whilst paying a large chunk of his overinflated wages.

As for where it comes from, well media in forms know this will sell. No need to provenance a story that's going to sell itself.
