Good. He deserves to play in a side befitting of his talents.
I've said so many times, we are not vying for elite level competitions this year. We are trying to break into the top half of the table.
That needs to sink in with a lot of fans. It is why Delap was their first choice for striker. Was there a second choice? The striker market is pretty dry for the criteria that meets our requirements. The likes of Osimehen, Gyorekes, Isak etc are not in our league, currently.
I think Mbeumo gets done, after that, a sprinkling of unknown younger players will probably be the focus, until we clear out the deadwood. If we cannot clear out sufficient deadwood, I doubt there are more signings on offer, and why should there be. With some of the younger generation coming through and some of the deadwood leaving, it will lift the quality of the squad. Will it be enough to break into the top half, I think it probably will be.

A little disappointed, but given where we are, I can’t say I’m too surprised. Will he be another Haaland or another Nunez? I’d be a bit concerned about the prospect of the latter if I were an Arsenal fan, but my gut says that he will do well there. Expect him to get 30+ goals in all competitions.

Dimbo, exactly what youngsters have we got coming through that go straight in starting 11 and exactly and more importantly which one of them is showing he can score regularly in the EPL…. chino is only one with any promise of being a goalscorers and we needed goals drastically last season but RA still stuck with Rasmus which suggest Chido being nowhere near ready.

We seriously need additions another 5 or 6 for sure.

I agree, we need goals. Cunha and Mbeumo will add goals.
I have said previously, as you will know because you comment on everything I write, that by adding Cunha and Mbeumo, and retaining Zirkzee to feed them, we add the shortfall of goals we lacked last year and that you speak of so regularly without offering any of productive solutions.
Obi will kick on. Why not give Biancheri a chance in pre season.
We still have Rasmus and he doesn't want to leave it seems, maybe he still does.
Again, to my point. we are not looking for ELITE level signings because. and let this part sink into you. we are not an ELITE level club anymore. Do you fathom that fact?

LOL Dimbo, I’m still laughing that you think Zirkee plays in the middle of Cunha and a player who we not signed yet and you think that’s enough goals in the team, and we’re still left with a dysfunctional keeper and CBs, slow ponderous midfield and zero back up if the 1 forward and your not signed forward get suspended or injured.

Your posts, all of them, are repetitive and without substance.
You pour negativity on all the players, yet offer no suggestions to improve them.
When others step forward and make suggestions, you pour your negativity onto their posts.
You will probably say I am being negative by saying we are not elite anymore, but it is called being realistic.
My post about this is united, refers to fact we still do have a pull.
There is a difference between having the united appeal and the level we are currently at. But your negativity will not allow you to see that.
Let me spell it out for you.
There will be a pool of players who would jump at the chance to play for UTD, and within that pool, these players will be at a variety of levels, from bang average to elite. We are at the lower end of that scale as a club, and it will take baby steps to get back to elite level.

Come on mate, this rebuild is, and will continue to be, a slow and frustrating plod.

Nobody's said that a triumvirate of Cunha, Mbeumo and Hojlund/ Zirkzee will necessarily get us the goal return required to compete for European places, but the two new 10s offer their own levels of output that will improve the return while also making the team a more dynamic attacking threat - thus providing a realistic chance of furthering the increase of goal returns for the whole team.

I don't think Hojlund or Zirkzee will become Haaland or Ruud next season, but they will certainly have a couple of better attacking threats to work with - that's surely at least a small step in the right direction.
We might yet get a new No9, but we're not realistically worthy of sitting at the top table so options like Mateta and Watkins might be best for us atm.
With or without our realistic options for a new No9, it's not going to be perfect, just better.

Just chill mate, this fix will be frustrating enough without getting wound up by things that are wholly beyond the control of all of us.

And it doesn't matter if you are wrong and wonderful if your prediction comes true. The beauty of this site has always been it is very much a opinion based forum, quite often little facts.

I have tried to steer the discussion into a discussion on many occasions, but as you pointed out, whatever I write, there is instant ramblings towards me and most of the time I just let it go tbh.
