Hi Ed is the Casemiro signing a FDJ alternative or are we still looking to sign FDJ or similar player?

twenty

{Ed002's Note - it is unrelated.

1.) 19 Aug 2022 13:35:08
Thanks Ed.

2.) 19 Aug 2022 15:23:17
I can't see FDJ deal happening now. If he chooses to leave Barcelona it looks like Chelsea are ready to swoop in. With them being a UCL team, probably the closest team in the league to challenge City/ Liverpool for the title and them being a London team I'd expect to lose out in that battle. Personally I think he'll be staying at Barcelona now, I can't see him cracking.

However, we could see a deal for either SMS or Tielemans who are both closer in profile to FDJ still join the club this summer.

3.) 19 Aug 2022 16:44:18
Although imagine if we do get FDJ over the line, Our midfield will have gone from McFred to FDJ and Casemiro with Bruno/ Eriksen.

4.) 19 Aug 2022 17:43:09
I just hope the club don’t think Casemiro is the solely the answer to our problems. Would be great to see sms or tielemans. Still think RB is a problem and RW/ ST.

5.) 19 Aug 2022 19:44:09
Won’t be popular but they may look at Fred’s performances for Brazil with Casemiro and look to go with that partnership with Fernandes/ Eriksen.

Duncan castles reporting done deal for awb 55m.

twenty

1.) 19 Jun 2019 20:03:34
A lot of money if it's true .
Just another example of other clubs having our pants down
Midfield and a striker is were we need to improve
Guess we will find out soon enough what the fuss about AWB is all about.

2.) 19 Jun 2019 20:11:28
Good moan rock.

Or If true, means we’ve nailed one of our major targets for the summer. Young, highly talented right back which was one of our biggest weaknesses.

3.) 19 Jun 2019 20:24:19
Some fans, moan when we don’t spend, moan when we do. Pretty well documented our defence needs a big upgrade.

4.) 19 Jun 2019 20:37:03
Duncan castles isn't the most reliable but if true it's good business in today's market English players are ridiculous in price.

But answer this

Does he makes us better yes
Will he be first choice yes
Hes young English and he had a great season one of the best defenders last season.

Agree with ports I'm not that interested how much money is being spent on the team as long as the players are improving us.

5.) 19 Jun 2019 21:08:37
Great progress if true, a winger and a right back signed already.

Plenty of time remaining to bring in a CB and a CM.

Good window so far. People complain about us not having a plan. Well I like this approach of signing young, quick and exciting players. I don’t care if they’re British or not, I want our players to get me out of my seat.

6.) 20 Jun 2019 00:58:03
I'll be very happy if we do get the AWB deal over the line, looks a very promising player with his best years ahead of him. Hopefully James can go on to fulfil his potential at Utd too. Its midfield that worries me though, we need 2/ 3 players in there and i do think they need be be ready made players who can go straight in to the team. I'm all for signing potential and building a future team but with Herrera/ Fellaini (regardless of our opinion of their quality) and maybe Pogba wanting out we are well short in what is for me the most important area. Mctomminay, Fred, Perreira are good players in their own right but we need world class in there. It'll be hard with no CL but we need to break the bank in midfield.

7.) 20 Jun 2019 08:01:43
I like the look of him but let's be honest it's a massive amount of money for a young lad .
Does he make us better? Only time will tell .

8.) 20 Jun 2019 12:22:33
Does he make us better? Better than Ashley Young? A traffic cone would make us better.

9.) 20 Jun 2019 21:45:24
Wan-Bissaka would be a very good buy for you guys. Prob the only RB who managed to cope with Mane this year. Would be a major upgrade for that position for you. And considering he is british, you have to expect silly money for him.

Yesterday I did feel devastated by the loss. Today I do feel the right decision is to stick by Ole it's not a time for people above to sack him. There isn't a plan, I don't want a manger that is another stop gap. We need a manager we want, that suits us and can build on what Ole has done so far. I definitely don't feel Ole is a long term solution far from it but the next manager has to be the right fit for the club. I think having a Care taker manager puts pressure on the board if they do well. I think the board should now be thinking of what they should do come the end of the season and thinking of potential candidates.

twenty

{Ed0666's Note - maybe Ronaldo can take the helm until you find a manager. He seems to be making most of the decisions anyway. And his minder Bruno can be assistant as he revels in the sidekick role.

1.) 25 Oct 2021 15:26:57
Twenty, you need your head wobbled if you think Ole should continue. The man has not learned a single lesson since he took over 3 years, had an incredible amount of luck and has been given a boat load of money to spend on players.

He serves up absolute crap, week after week after week. Keeping Ole in the job at this stage is quite frankly idiotic.

2.) 25 Oct 2021 15:52:14
Conte, an outstanding candidate is available.
He is a man with ambition and accepts nothing but winning.

3.) 25 Oct 2021 16:01:44
Conte would certainly deal wth the pre madonnas at the club.

4.) 25 Oct 2021 16:11:16
Sack Ole, get an interim until the end of the season. let's be honest the realistic target now is a top 4 finish and an interim could probably still do a better job than Ole. Then we go all in for Erik ten Hag in the summer.

Problem sorted.

5.) 25 Oct 2021 16:13:40
The real problem remains the inept club management. Until that changes things will not improve. Ronaldo has set the clock back further, pinning our hopes on a fantasy. The only chance is a manager who is strong enough to counteract the rotten core that has persisted ever since the Glazers took over.

Is there such a person out there who wants the job? I don't see any saviours. The last time the position was open the best they could manage was OGS.

6.) 25 Oct 2021 16:21:22
Big Sam gets my vote ???.

7.) 25 Oct 2021 16:28:30
How about Mick McCarthey, he’s available and a failed Cardiff manager although he didn’t score a goal 20 odd years ago.

8.) 25 Oct 2021 16:41:09
Conte is not the right choice. You all want short term success and if you want long term success you need a structure like Liverpool or city. Conte is a bit of a mourinho mould. He won’t like the structure at the club he will inevitably fall out with the board and won’t last more than 2 years. He won’t play the football we like either.
Agree shawthing. The club is just run extremely poorly which is why we find ourselves in this position.
Im not pro Ole at all. I just think we need to see the bigger picture.
What you guys are suggesting is exactly what ole was brought in for, it puts the club in a difficult position if that candidate does to well.

9.) 25 Oct 2021 16:42:36
The only way it would work if we had an agreement in place for a manager to take over in the summer prior to hiring a interim.

10.) 25 Oct 2021 16:45:51
Mad Hatter - Out of interest pal who do you think are the prima-donna’s?

{Ed0666's Note - Ronaldo & Fernandes for starters

11.) 25 Oct 2021 16:49:40
Lots of people living in the SAF Wenger era thinking long term. Chelsea with their short term culture have won more PL trophies. Liverpool have won 1.

12.) 25 Oct 2021 16:54:46
Let’s just become the Watford of the north.

13.) 25 Oct 2021 17:06:43
United manager is a poisoned chalice. Ole has gotten us so far. I fully agree with Jamie Carragher that we can’t expect Ole to compete with Pep Tuchel or Klopp. Chalk and cheese.

Carragher admits he was never good for England because rio and terry were just better than him and he couldn’t do anything to get better. It’s the same with Ole.

On a side note, I love Gary Neville but his whole reluctance to accept Ole is the wrong man is becoming his undoing. He was laughed at by everyone in the studio yesterday. Carragher is a much better pundit!

14.) 25 Oct 2021 17:33:40
DLIB,

I'll add to ED0666s list, Pogba, Lingard, Martial, Shaw.

15.) 25 Oct 2021 17:32:52
Ed0666 - I’ve always thought Bruno works very hard however I must agree he seems to have gone rouge. Running around like a headless chicken, pressing on his own and leaving the midfield horribly exposed. He’s acting like a petulant chid. Running all over the place and throwing his arms around blaming others rather than leading. It’s not like him, many wanted him to be our captain. He’s been head and shoulders our best player since he arrived I do wonder what’s gone wrong?

Ronaldo is Ronaldo, play to his strengths or send him back to Portugal.

I’ll have Pogba and maybe Martial but it wasn’t their fault we were 4-0 down at HT yesterday so I’m just interested are the others?

{Ed0666's Note - you have a talented motley crew. It’s obvious no one respects OGS. His half time team talks must just go in one ear and out of the other. He’s the sweetest man in the world but sweet don’t make you winners. You need a nasty son of a bitch who won’t tolerate inflated ego’s with a winning mentality. The obvious and clear candidate is Conte. Yes it will probably end in tears after a couple of seasons but he’s the disciplinarian you need right now to steady the ship because soon enough there will be a mutiny. I truly believe Ole won’t see the end of the week as United manager.

Have it on good authority Judge took plane to London and that gunnersaurus is currently having a medical and signing to be announced shortly.

Imagine how many players we missed out on because judge had his phone off. You think gaitan and sneijder are still calling it?

made me chuckle that. Needed it after watching a very emotional uncle pat talk at 2 AM sipping green tea.

What a mess.

Matthew judge - Managing Manchester United's equity and debt capital structure - three equity offerings incl. the IPO, totalling over $450m; and three debt refinancings ($1bn+) - debt private placement, term-loan and RCF. Also player negotiations (transfers and playing contracts) .

Prior to Man Utd; investment banking for 13 years, based in both Europe and Asia - Equity Offerings, M&A and VC/ PE. Primary focus on TMT.
Evra is completely right you don't send people like this or lawyers to Speak with a player. Stick to what your good at judge and it's not completing transfers that's for sure.

Your bang on.

2.) 21 Sep 2020 21:21:27
Just proves how much in trouble we are in.

Ignoring calls from other dofs.

3.) 21 Sep 2020 21:25:56
We are most likely a laughing stock amongst Europe’s elite. Can imagine all the ceos having a chuckle at the state of Ed and the boys 🤣.

4.) 21 Sep 2020 21:52:59
Promises were made by Woodward that a dof would be brought in, it never happened and the last update from the club was it’s no longer a priority. Even if they did it would be a title they give to someone who has zero control. We are a laughing stock Tim but at least that’s something judge knows something about . stocks and restructuring debt.

21 Sep 2020 17:58:46
Patrice evra on Woodward "the only problem I would say to Woodward is trusting people he should never trust he even trusts people outside the club that he shouldn't. A football director called me from a top football club and asked me to tell Matthew judd to answer his phone. People need to understand we send lawyers to talk to players. So when we send lawyers they talk about numbers, they are not people from the football world. The club needs to stop being so arrogant. there are certain people at the club right now that don't even respect SAF. People want to blow his legacy away. For what? Business? I think some people who work for the club are damaging this club. That's why we have to tel the truth to the fans. I know some people are scared to speak up about because they may not get a job in the future, I don't care, I love Manchester United.

twenty

1.) 21 Sep 2020 18:12:01
Typo *matthew judge.

2.) 21 Sep 2020 19:06:17
Good man pat. People need to speak up and not be afraid to do so.

3.) 21 Sep 2020 19:21:53
Just watched it.
Really sad to hear how the club is run.
Evra is so passionate and wants the best for our club.

4.) 21 Sep 2020 19:26:15
My post didn’t make it through previously but I wanted to applaud Patrice Evra for being open and honest. You have to laugh. A football director called an ex player of ours to tell Matt Judge to answer his phone! Say it out loud. It’s actually ridiculous. Ed002 did say that Woodward is not entirely to blame and Evra does seem to back this up. If his issue is trusting the wrong people then surely after many failed seasons, you take a different approach? Patrice gave us a small example of how Matt Judge operates. He could be doing much worse. Emphasis on could. It’s well worth the 20 minute watch and I’m happy someone has come out and said things openly and honestly without caring about what damage it does to their chances of having a role in the club. Well done Pat!

5.) 21 Sep 2020 20:09:10
It seems Gary Neville has also come out and said his bit today also. Pressure from the fans, ex players and the media. Will we do anything about it?

6.) 21 Sep 2020 20:32:47
This is the thing about having an ex-player as manager.

There are now many ex-United players working in the media. They might have been okay throwing an outsider such as Moyes, LvG or Jose under the bus. But will they throw one of their own?

Will people like Evra, Neville, Keane, Scholes, Giggs, Ferdinand etc throw Ole under the bus to protect those higher up, or will they back their former teammate, their friend and say what is really happening.

People want real change at our club it won't happen by calling for Ole's head. He'd be sacked and we would find ourselves in the same position in 18 months to two years time.

However, a club legend, a man who ex-players and fan can stand behind. That might be the thing that makes real change happen.

None of us are fools here, we all know Ole isn't the long term option. But he might be the man we can gather around to make real change happen. Make those people who won't relinquish power realise they can't hide in the shadows anymore. Make those higher up accountable and suddenly we might find ourselves with the right people in the right roles, the amateurs will be found out and removed. Then when the right structure is in place we will appoint a manager who can take the club to the next level.

7.) 21 Sep 2020 21:10:41
Exactly what I’ve been saying Shappy. The decision to hire Ole puts the pressure on them more than it would do with other managers. Most of us agree Ole isn’t the man to bring us sexy football and trophies but the majority of fans will not turn on him as they did with Moyes, LVG or Jose. I wonder if they’re regretting hiring Ole 😂.

8.) 21 Sep 2020 21:15:11
So is Ole our cannon fodder Shappy?

9.) 21 Sep 2020 21:37:34
Mmmmm the men in charge hired a man who can undermine and expose them. as soon as he got close to that they would fire him.
Did ole ask pat to say those things? Would go up in my estimation if he did.

10.) 21 Sep 2020 21:42:03
So in Shappys posts today, we have gone from Project Fear, we might get GIggs as the new Manager, to now claim that Ole is the man to stand behind to get real change. Ole the new Che Guevera, vice la revolution. Smacks of more desperation to get people behind Ole.

Real change won’t happen due to Ole, real change will only happen when there is a change of ownership, a change of focus and aim. Ole can’t bring that and it shows the depth of emotion involved thinking he can.

11.) 21 Sep 2020 21:54:14
The men in charge are that stupid Ken.

Good. For someone who is supposedly loves our club and credits it with the player he WAS he can’t even go to the fans who travelled to what that sh*t. Wants to jump ship rather than help the club. Would be best all round to cut ties and hopefully sends a message to the squad but I doubt it.

Dalot is average he wouldn’t get in any top 8 teams. Awb has improved lots prob the best one on one defender in world football and for me should be ahead of dalot. Dalot isn’t good at defending nor is he good at getting forward, his end product is terrible.

I agree if it’s the managers choice then I will back the signing. If he’s gone for rabiot now then it’s suggests the original target we couldn’t get. I don't think he just realised on Sunday that the midfield was no good.
I would be shocked if we got FDJ now I don’t think we have or had a chance to get him.
Knowing our club we will be sat there on deadline day without anyone for that role TH wants. Then come the summer again we will need that position along with a striker a RB a CB aGK a RW and again the club will mess up and again the squad is lacking going into that season. What could be a 3 window change with this club will take a decade. They don’t have a clue. Mistakes happen but to continually make the same ones is unforgivable.

The club are saying this transfer doesn’t impact the de jong deal. So why now are we signing rabiot when it could have been done weeks ago. Again we have dithered behaved like amateurs. We were promised change was happening but nothing has changed.
We needed a mass overhaul this summer and when we don’t complete the bare essential signings we need it will just delay the process and we will need more Windows to get this team anywhere near competing. What makes no sense is that TH said clearly we need the right players not just players maybe he knew then that the club were targeting players he didn’t want. It wouldn’t be the first time van gaal for example that he is given 5th choice players to sign. I really can’t believe that Rabiot is a ten hag choice. This will end badly if that is the case.
