I want to get this clear, is true that funds were not made available for Moyes during his time as manager of MU? I find this difficult to believe considering the fact that Moyes went after the likes of Gareth Bale and Cesc Fabrigas and also spent a considerable sum on the two signings made during his tenure. He would not have done these if funds were not made available.
Is there any other fact to back this argument or it is based on what was reported in the rags?
Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I am not really clear what you are talking about - players were purchased so funds were available.}

Thanks Ed. The post is meant to clear the air on the believe of some of our fans who claim Moyes was not given the backing he needed compare to the fact that his successor spent a considerable huge amount last summer.
For me it is more about the manager's ability to convince the sort after players on his project for the club.

{Ed002's Note - It was time he was not given. Plus there was resentment from some of the staff.}

Bond,
What do you suggest? We sack the manager right away? Yet it will be another people opinion the manager should've been given more time. Don't forget the same measure was taken over a year ago with the former manager(though most agreed it was the right decision to take)
Then,do we sack the current man in charge again after a season in charge? Not forgetting he just brought us back to Europe after last season's huge disappointment?
I think he deserves another season. I am very sure he will be shown the exit door if there's no significant improvement in our game plan after September.

{Ed007's Note - So you'd give him another transfer window to spend millions and if there's no improvement sack him in September? Hhhmmmm, that makes perfect sense.}

Well,it isn't peculiar to United alone,certain Shevchenko,Fernando Torres,Materja Kezman and Crespo at Chelsea took longer at the club with no real spark to their billings. The thing is, these things happen in football. You'll like to look at what happened to Chamakh at Arsenal.IMO,a player needs more than a season at least, be it sentiment or not.

I tell you this, Di Maria will be sold if we get up to close the amount we paid for him last season.

Come to think of it,if we can get him off our wage bill,then we can go all out for Gareth Bale and,or Edinson Cavani who I think are very much part of our targets this season.

Having said this,I will be more than glad if Di Maria could be given chance to prove himself here now that we have a better midfield in place.
