Rooney needs a striker who can keep him out of the team! That might Make him better. We also need a cb badly. Can I ask the eds if they know about any cb signings we may make other than ramos??? I've read we are not interested in otimendi and maybe in
stones. Is ramos the only defender we want???

Pepgiggs

{Ed004's Note - According to newspaper reports yes I'm not sure of any interest in other cb}

1.) 04 Aug 2015 10:58:52
Ed004 I know you are a united fan so what are your views on our business so far? Surely we will sign a striker and cb? Is ramos still a possibility? Is ibrahimovic likely? What do you think mate?

{Ed004's Note - As long as we end the window with a top CB I will be happy. I would be delighted if we ended it with a cb, pedro and a striker/Bale}

2.) 04 Aug 2015 11:48:20
Yeah definitely just not sure what cb we might get

3.) 04 Aug 2015 12:14:05
Pep are you the riddler with all those ?'s lol. But we need a decent CB in, can not be relying on what we have at the moment. In regards to Ibra, I think he is quality but I would much prefer signing a good striker with a view for the future. There is a lot of talk about Lacazette now leaving Lyon. Would Utd be interested there?

4.) 04 Aug 2015 12:22:53
I always wanted Garay.

5.) 04 Aug 2015 12:46:11
Welsh Red , not sure this is the right place to air your intimate desires. Especially about other men. I would guess there are more "specialist" websites for that sort of thing.
I applaud you for being so open and honest though :)

6.) 04 Aug 2015 13:36:08
What bothers me is the fact the club haven't landed another top striker because as good as Rooney is he will have a dip in form and he will over the course of the season pick up knocks especially with hopefully the amount of games we get to play. The other thing is our back line now the addition of Darmian looks inspired the guy looks the real deal and in my opinion has done great so far but against PSG Jones was caught ball watching as ibra strolled on past him to tap in the cross and Shaw who I thought has started to look good had to come across to help Jones and they all got in a pickle when Jones ought to have won the ball. If the center of our defence isn't fixed that will cost us titles no matter how good our midfield screen us the top strikers will eat our center backs up. Just my thoughts.

7.) 04 Aug 2015 13:38:43
Totally agree with you there Ed004. Hit the nail on the head as far as I'm concerned. TBH I'll be glad when its September and the window is a distant memory and we can focus on the games.

8.) 04 Aug 2015 15:47:15
Ha ha well I thought this thread was as good as any to air my laundry Betty! Thanks for your support lol.

02 Aug 2015 23:44:00
As the eds are playing the same guessing game as us, eds who is the big marquee signing we are all expecting before Septembe? Who is more likely than anyone else? Remember this is a GUESSING game?

Pepgiggs

{Ed025's Note - i will go for ibrahimovic then..

1.) 02 Aug 2015 23:53:04
This evening I've been thinking that Hummels and ibrahimovic could happen. If I'm being greedy I'd take either Garay or Otamendi too in that order to partner Hummels. Or maybe I've had too much sea air this weekend.

2.) 03 Aug 2015 08:40:46
I'll say bale then

3.) 03 Aug 2015 13:23:34
I will go Pedro and Ibrahimovic so we have a forward line of Depay Rooney and Pedro behind Zlatan, Rooney and Zlatan switching through the game.

Want Bale and Ibra though

4.) 03 Aug 2015 15:44:48
I had a silly thought in my head that it could be llorente, I don't like silly thoughts.
Just saying :-)

5.) 03 Aug 2015 18:07:12
Being way too optimistic I still think there is a chance of us getting muller and Ramos! So I'll say them but failing that maybe we'll sign pedro and otamendi. And cilesson to replace Ddg

01 Aug 2015 12:27:28
So the ramos deal is back on

Pepgiggs

1.) 01 Aug 2015 12:57:15
From what I've read he hasn't agreed a contract extension with RM yet.
Perez has apparently blocked the deal with UTD from happening in fear he may lose his job.

2.) 01 Aug 2015 13:35:48
He looked all smiles and talking behind his hand at the ac Milan game other day! Thought he was signing a new contract then

28 Jul 2015 18:30:06
Diego godin on leaving athletico Madrid. “It [a Rossoneri switch] would be a step back. I feel good at Atletico Madrid and I still have a lot of ambition; but it would be completely different if it were a club with more ambition

Pepgiggs

1.) 29 Jul 2015 14:01:09
Would be a good addition. plays on the left of the CB's and lots of leadership experience.

27 Jul 2015 21:36:18
Ed 004, has our interest in lewondowski disappeared? #

Pepgiggs

{Ed004's Note - Don't recall us having much interest in him this summer}

1.) 28 Jul 2015 08:01:10
Ed001 said that we did from what I recall?

{Ed001's Note - yes mate you did, but you are looking elsewhere right now, it is on the backburner so to speak as other options are explored.}

2.) 28 Jul 2015 08:03:01
A few of the eds said a couple of weeks back that he was of interest during the time when his agent was claiming money would be factor in any move, ie if we offered 40mil+ for him, we could have a chance of getting him

3.) 28 Jul 2015 09:40:16
It's not Lukaku is it?!

4.) 28 Jul 2015 10:30:10
Hi Ed001

If you get chance would you be able to give a few names of people being considered?

Cheers

{Ed001's Note - Zlatan is the only one I know of, though how realistic that is I have no idea. It would certainly suit both PSG and Man Utd to make a deal work.}

5.) 28 Jul 2015 13:34:25
@Ed001

Please tell me its not Lukaku we are looking at. I'd rather give Wilson a chance.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know of any interest from United in Lukaku, but I do know of interest from Lukaku in joining United, which is why I have avoided commenting on Everton for a couple of days, while I tried to find out if the interest was mutual. Sorry I haven't had a chance to find out yet though.}

6.) 28 Jul 2015 13:53:27
ED001 looking elsewhere means different player being looked at or are we trying to get player for a different position first.

{Ed001's Note - different player being looked at.}

7.) 28 Jul 2015 11:13:11
Eds
Would our main target right now be Pedro?

{Ed004's Note - Probably atm}

Watch everyone crawl out in support of rooney

Pepgiggs

1.) 26 Aug 2015 23:28:11
Does that include you?

2.) 26 Aug 2015 23:48:13
#sigh#. Rooney has been pants, tonight he was great , there is no crawling involveds

3.) 27 Aug 2015 00:40:40
People should be supporting Rooney anyway instead of endlessly knocking him!!!

4.) 27 Aug 2015 01:50:35
What? He scores an effin hat trick an you still find time to hate him?

5.) 27 Aug 2015 10:41:00
He has had 1 bad game, 1 good game and the rest were just average. You cannot judge a player either way after 3 league games and 2 CL qualifiers that were relatively easy in the end.

25 Aug 2015 20:13:54
I'd play anyone in number 9 position if it meant rooney was dropped! He needs a kick up the backside and hernandez and wilson aren't food enough to give it him

Pepgiggs

1.) 25 Aug 2015 20:19:03
They can count themselves lucky that they aren't food enough or he'd have had them wil a plate of chips.

2.) 25 Aug 2015 20:26:43
Oh the irony!! That's what happens Danny when you take the p##s out of people mis- spelling. It's called korma lol.

3.) 25 Aug 2015 20:28:20
I watched a few re-runs games when Rooney first signed for the club, on the club's TV channel and I have to say that at 17/18, he was not only a better footballer than he is now, but much more physically powerful. I mean surely, he should be at least physically stronger now than he was at 18?

I think someone need's to investigate him because I am beginning to think his 39 not 29. :O)

4.) 25 Aug 2015 20:29:41
Pmsl Danny. I'm not agreeing with you much lately but glad your stilla funny Chao

5.) 25 Aug 2015 20:45:19
I meant to say he's not his. (My kid don't like to sleep so he doesn't like anyone else in the house sleeping)

6.) 25 Aug 2015 20:46:08
Oh carp!

7.) 25 Aug 2015 21:09:39
Are hernandez and wilson not foods??? Oh no. where am I???😀

25 Aug 2015 13:27:09
Chelsea turned there attention to garay!

Pepgiggs

1.) 25 Aug 2015 13:53:33
Man Utd turn their attention to Jamie Vardy.

See what I did there Pep? I am now the media.

2.) 25 Aug 2015 14:08:27
Actually you're a medium JMB.

3.) 25 Aug 2015 16:02:54
If you were the media JMB there'd be some even more farcical, crazy articles in the papers

4.) 25 Aug 2015 16:07:02
JMB you are growing on me with every post!

5.) 25 Aug 2015 17:57:48
Not what I'd call you JMB, personally.

24 Aug 2015 13:28:32
Hypothetically speaking, if at the end of the season we decide to terminate lvgs contract. Who would be your favourite manager to take over next year?

Pepgiggs

1.) 24 Aug 2015 13:38:37
carlo ancelotti

2.) 24 Aug 2015 13:39:34
Klopp or Ancelotti would be the 2 to choose from in my opinion. Maybe Pep if he leaves Bayern. Others like Conte, Blanc and Simeone will likely be linked but the first 3 are most likely for me.

Maybe Moon now he has his coaching badges?

3.) 24 Aug 2015 13:42:15
Pep or giggs for me.

4.) 24 Aug 2015 13:42:43
Guardiola

5.) 24 Aug 2015 13:50:10
Ancelotti

6.) 24 Aug 2015 13:42:49
Well both Klopp and Ancelotti have decided to have a little time out of the game, so I would assume they would both be high on the wish list. Plus Pep could be available next summer.

Personally I think next summer will be a vital one for our club. Do we stick or twist? Much will depend on this seasons results.

7.) 24 Aug 2015 13:53:54
Jurgen Klopp. Attacking football, and a big personality.

8.) 24 Aug 2015 14:04:08
Klopp for me

9.) 24 Aug 2015 14:09:54
It's got to be a young one. Giggs, pep or Klopp

10.) 24 Aug 2015 14:11:30
The special one, anyone who tells a microphone off has my vote.
Or Pep :-)

11.) 24 Aug 2015 14:14:05
Think guardiola, klopp and ancelotti are the top 3 candidates which simeone an outside bet. I'd personally take guardiola and keep giggs as number 2! I think theyd work really well together and guardiola would listen to giggs ideas more

12.) 24 Aug 2015 14:24:36
Diego Simeone

13.) 24 Aug 2015 14:37:18
The logical choice would be pep due to LVG and Peps similar systems. Did anyone read Tierry Henry's peice about how Peps system is similar to that of LVG's? It was mainly about Pedro but it was pretty interesting.

The club have changed a lot of things from scouting to formations and style of play in the youth ages put in a lot of structure to support these changes. You would assume the club would consider all this during their selection. To undo two years of rebuilding would be madness.

14.) 24 Aug 2015 14:43:53
Ronnie, by gosh we'd have the best team in 2020.

15.) 24 Aug 2015 15:06:38
Don't make me say it. Y_o_u_r_i T_i_e_l_e_m_a_n_s! Damn, couldn't keep it in!!

16.) 24 Aug 2015 15:21:37
Guardiola for me. I'm currently reading his auto biography. Great read. It has also made me appreciate that much more what he did at Barcelona. He took over a squad which was all over the place and had the balls to do what he needed to do. Tactically he is up there with the best. Not to mention, he is the perfect man to take over from an LVG system.

17.) 24 Aug 2015 16:22:01
Lucien Favre or Thomas Tuchel. Both have done fantastically recently, play attractive football and I think either of them would be ready for the step up.

{Ed007's Note - What about Mark Warburton? The Scottish press are saying he's a future England manager! rofl

18.) 24 Aug 2015 16:25:14
I agree, 100% it should be me.

19.) 24 Aug 2015 16:27:03
Pep or Klopp for me.
Pep would give you short term success

Klopp would give us longevity, attacking football and has the personality capable of handling the Utd job.

20.) 24 Aug 2015 16:51:07
Ozzy, you're having a laugh right?

21.) 24 Aug 2015 16:54:21
The only thing about klopp is his last season at dortmund wasn't great. Not saying that was his fault but it could be seen as a blemish

22.) 24 Aug 2015 21:05:39
Tis a toughy.

Queue the haters.

I would rather Garry Monk than Ryan Giggs

😎thuglife

23.) 25 Aug 2015 00:33:03
Thank you Patzi for telling it like it is. I would even have Brendan Rodgers over Giggs, great player but has no manager experience what so ever, and he isn't the most likeable guy around.

23 Aug 2015 21:43:42
I for one will be glad when this window slams shut. We seriously need to do something about players using us a way to get attention from their own or other clubs. We are losing our greatness and respect by the market these days! Ronaldo, ramos and now neymar looking to use us to get new contracts. Someone at the club needs to realise when a player is messing us around and sort it out behind the scenes

Pepgiggs

1.) 23 Aug 2015 22:17:15
Don't forget Alves and Mueller.

2.) 23 Aug 2015 22:54:05
I second that pep I agree the tabloids trying to affect us with the pedro situation, I also believe if we really wanted him we would of got him, we might also be thinking it could be waste of money to buy some used as a back up to a bigger target we might be in for in the coming year, anyway seems to of affected Chelsea more than us, I reckon we look stable and great going forward without that finishing product Rooney inform and some better end product with our deliverys we will be destroying teams, as for the big games I reckon we will be seeing a few boring 1-0 our way

3.) 23 Aug 2015 23:27:22
I think you might be overestimating rooney.

4.) 23 Aug 2015 23:38:23
I'm not pal just no he will be better with better deliverys and few goals behind him he's all we've got and if where not signing anyone else he's our only real option he can score we all know that

5.) 24 Aug 2015 09:18:42
Pep. I think the club have been made to look like fools in recent times. We need a strong management, not Woodward, who is going to close deals and re establish our reputation when doing transfers.
Chelsea and Juventus have the right people working for them while our lot haven't. I'm fully aware that the transfer business is a tricky business but I'm also aware that other lesser clubs seem to have better mire experienced people who can negotiate discretely and successfully.
Gill was excellent at this and though he lost out on a couple of targets, he went about his business with great authority and dignity.
I Woodward we have a gun slinger, go out make all the right noises, only to be shot down by a younger, faster and cleverer man.
