Eds, any comments on whispers of, bale to utd, a done deal. Also a lot of chatter around ronaldo. Thanks

Cicero

{Ed004's Note - There is no done deal but there is a slight possibility of a transfer happening (Bale). Can't see anything happening with Ronaldo}

1.) 15 May 2015 12:03:06
Ed004 I have a question for you. In your opinion who do you think are the most reliable journalists out there regarding transfers? Mark Ogden is one I closely watch

{Ed004's Note - None currently. There seemed to be a few around when Moyes was about but currently the press get very little joy of Ed Woodward nowadays. Ogden would probably be your best bet but Ballague (Spanish players) and Di Marzio (Italian league) would be the only other decent ones}

2.) 15 May 2015 14:11:32
Cheers Ed. I prefer Mr.Woodward keeping the cards close to the chest anyway. It was farcical when Moyes was in charge. Yes I like Ballague quite a bit, he seems to know what's going on but his opinion on Bale seems to contradict Ogden's. It will be interesting with Bale. I am sure it's a complicated situation.

3.) 15 May 2015 15:14:14
Ballague clearly has a bias towards Spanish teams and a dislike for United, regardless of how well informed he is.

Hi eds, any truth in the Roberto firmino rumour today. It comes from bild which has been reliable in past for Germany based players. Thanks.

Cicero

{Ed002's Note - I have explained the situation with Firmino. There is no "done deal" right now with any club.}

I am reading on net that villa have signed tc for 12 months with an option to buy. I understand this is his last yr of contract with us. So how can we sell an option to buy next year.

Cicero

1.) There's a clause in the contract whereby we can cancel the loan at any point. Their option to buy also relates to January rather than once the loan ends.

I suspect that there is a deal agreed by which they will buy in January - and if they don't I expect we will recall him and move him on elsewhere.

That said; I wouldn't be at all surprised if the player refuses to sign and waits out his contract in order to leave on a free (why wouldn't he?).

2.) Maybe there's an extra year option that can be triggered, same as it was with Evra.

3.) 02 Sep 2014 19:13:38
I've heard it's with a view to buying in January

4.) Heard it's a 6 month loan

5.) From reports I heard it was loan til January with option to buy

What happened to Varela. haven't heard anything about him for some time. We keep hearing about janko though, who also plays in the same position. Thanks

Cicero

1.) Varela was given a couple of months to go back to Uruguay where his parents have been involved in a serious car accident.

He came back a couple of months ago and has been ever present in the U21 lineups at rb, along with Janko who has been playing as a winger.

2.) Personally next season I hope Rafael remains our right back with one of Janko or Vareka deputising him.

3.) Varela isn't physically ready for the Prem, Janko on the other hand could do quite well.

From bundesliga.

Januzaj had a decent 30 mins after coming on as a substitute. Looks like he will have a nice exposure there with their team much more adventurous than ours.

And our long term target hummels again had a contribution in one of the goals conceded. This guy makes mistakes with such frequency that I think we might have dodged a bullet.

You must be mistaken mate. Allowing Januzaj to go on loan to Dortmund is a disgrace , and he won't even play. Remember?

Julian Draxler. IMO exactly what we need. Skillful, pacey, good on both feet, has an eye for goal etc.

He's 6'2", no lightweight, young - 21-22 yrs (If age and build were the reasons for not signing pedro).

And he is available. Schalke asking for 30 m Eurs. That's cheap with the numbers going around these days.

Why are we not going for him. Though a couple of sites are linking us, but most of the guys are talking about juve and some abt arsenal.

Blighted by injury and not developed as well as was initially thought. Still he has time on his side though.

2.) 28 Aug 2015 10:03:41
He has been average for 18 months now with loads of injuries. He plays on the left side predominantly so not really a solution for fixing our right wing and more of a selection headache.

3.) 28 Aug 2015 10:21:00
Exactly what we need :)

4.) 28 Aug 2015 10:26:05
Agree gcu. He is a player that failed to live up to his reputation partly down to injury and partly because he was overhyped initially

Well, it looks a proper trfr window now that we are linked with Gaitan again. A sneijder link would affirm that.

Hi, With all the rumours flying, can anyone ITK throw some light.

1. How true & serious is interest in Benteke. 2. Since, we will go for only one of Ings and Benteke, Who is our priority, if any.

Hey ShaneK, Fair post. We are all excited to have a really good midfield after long. More importantly, they have different strengths to complement each other.

Considering that it is depay's first season in england, a goal + assist tally of 15(+) should be a good one.

Schweini. Apart from his experience which will be great for our team and youngsters, I believe he will make depay, rooney, ADM immensely effective in the counterattacks with long looping accurate passes on the break. Though, He has had some medical issues in prev seasons. So, hoping LVG manages him well.
