We looked a little undercooked and lacked pace in CM and CF.

Really good to see Lingard score such a great goal and Shaw looks fit and hungry.

Odd team selection, personally my 1st 11 would have at least 3 changes. Pogba, Rashford, and Scneiderlin start for me.

Win we did. Comfortable, confident I am not. We still have some way to go but today is a booster and message we are going the right way.
Confident that Mou will know what needs to be done. With Pogba coming in, I feel we still need another strong CB and that should complete our business for now. Still some gaps in defense I feel.

Glad for Jesse - always thought he'd be a late developer, and hopefully end up a decent player for us. Haven't seen the game, and only heard snippets of the radio commentary, but being undercooked was my big fear for the start of this season. However, when I mentioned it, some people thought I was just being negative against Jose.

So, right now, Fellaini, Martial, Rooney, and sadly Carrick. We need power (Pogba), pace (Rashford), creativity (Micky) and discipline (Schneids) . Given our options, don't see Fellaini even in the squad.

I think Micky will find Rooney blocking him in the team especially when Jesse is playing this way. Problem is Jesse is faster than he is and his finishing seems to be improving.

ibra got the goal today and that was about it, poor really, to be honest i would like a 9 with pace, it changes the game .

big fan of martial but like i said ladt week he has had a dip .
mik so far needs to prove himself
bailly and blind cb with the wig infront.

nice to see lingard a player that i keep getting told is not a united player show he maybe is .

jose put a good team out maybe a little more pace up top.

Agree on Jessie too i love his attitude and his commitment. Not got the good given talent some are born with but if you could bottle his desire you would be a wealthy man.

My thoughts for what they're worth,
Jose set out to win, to lay down a marker - we won
Jesse scored an almost Giggs like screamer
Ibra scored. CF's goal, what he does when the ball is delivered (Valencia), which we didn't do enough of.

I think JM realises the team is still instinctively playing LVG's way. So since Bailly and Blind where his Best CB pair for now, he had Fellaini in to provide height at set pieces against Huth and Morgan. I think Morgan's scored against us before? I don't think Fellaini is his preferred DM.

Now they need to get back to the hard work of preparing for Bournemouth next Sunday. Still in pre-season IMO.
