Ed, banter please if you would be so kind.

Some of us are getting over excited and we have the pro LVG and the less pro LVG camps forming. I've no idea if he remains a tactical genius or is now a doddery old fool but I am really lying forward to this season and the roller coaster ride we will alone on. However, there have been some strange things happening already.

1. We sign a left back for a record fee and then decide he is unfit, over train him, and lose him for a period.

2. We sign a new CB who we seem unable to get a work permit for. This may get resolved but still seems clunky to me.

3. We tell a bunch of players they can leave, then play some of them in the League Cup and wonder why they didn't perform.

4. We then finally make a real statement and sign a real star, albeit for silly money.

5. LVG is a character and clearly doesn't lack confidence but is it just me who would like to hear a little less from him just now?

6. Phil Osophy has yet to be seen, let's hope he turns up soon.

7. If we lose TC and Welbs, we should promote home grown to keep the numbers where they need to be.

I think this season will be wild but I'm taking the long view. If you remember when SAF arrived and started signing new players, it took a few attempts before he got to a winning formula. We are in a better place now so it shouldn't take so long but it will still be rocky.

My biggest hope is we start to inject pace and dynamism and stir some passions, the football in the last year or 2 has been a little less than exciting.

Great post AJH. As a lot of people have said we need to wait and see and hope the plan is a good one.

I have been a bit too quick off the mark with some of my comments potentially, but I suppose there are two parts, my pint is half empty with this guy though. I just hope if we are backing the master plan that we give him enough time to do it, otherwise we will be royally screwed. Patience whilst you lose bucket loads of cash are hard things to co-exist.

Cant blame LVG for shaw injury as it was shaw that did extra training beyond what LVG asked him to.
Nearly every utd player want a star signing and they sign di maria and everyone starts shouting why did we pay so much!?

League cup was and opportunity for frindge players to show why they deserve to be at the club and they didn't show show up. After the game they prob git told there time at club was over.

Yes we have not had best of starts but have faith. Moyes came to the club and tried to play the same way utd have always played and fail with they players. LVG has come in and changed a lot and will require time. He is going to change our fortunes and it will take time.

To many fans at this club expect instant sucess and to a point that is what should happen given our history. But we are going through change and that's a good thing shows we are developing and wil get back to the ways of old and win cups.

This isn't a dig at you AJH just wanted a put my view across

Curtr

No worries, I do have faith and I am appalled at the knee jerking that is currently going on from others. I was just pulling some observations together. It's a very strange window so far.

What a load of bollocks tony, stop talking sense, its all gone wrong, lvg has no idea what he's doing and we will probably finish 7th again.
