Is Pogba on the move again? Juve have said that they won't be able to keep him if a big offer comes in. I think he was right to leave the club given the treatment of him and I for one would welcome him back if we could sort out his differences with the club. With a new man in charge who is handing opportunities to youngsters I think his head could be turned back this way.

Fresh mate you need to read everything. They are currently negoitiating a new deal for him. What was said was that with the current state of Italian football that it would be hard for Juve to keep hold of Pogba in a two or three years time. And he pointed out AC Milan had to sell both Tiago Silva and Ibrahimovic to PSG.

So I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Pogba will go where the money is. I see him at City sooner or later as a long-term replacement for Yaya. I suspect there will be at least one more big money move first.

Nani and 20m?
Very unlikely, but Moyes bringing him back would be great publicity for him and Pogba is a good player and what we need.
I can see him leaving in the summer if Juve need money but his most likely destination will be Monaco or PSG for their 'project'

I understand what was said Shappy. I'm just speculating and hoping.

I agree Fresh, when he left I was gutted, It was obvious he was quality and even at the age of 20 is much better then Fellaini. Would be nice if he did come back but I think he is a mercenary type player and doubt he will be anywhere other then PSG, City, Monaco or Madrid within the next 5 years.

I don't think Pogba will come back, a player only gets 1 chance at united and they look at the player as a person, if he did what he did before he left contract wise (united fault really letting it can so close to the end of the contract) I don't think moyes would be interested as its the whole package not just what he does on a football pitch (which in theory is a shame) i.e. if bolatelli was the best footballer in the world united wouldn't sign him as what he is like as a person

i feel pogba has had his chance which is a shame! what do you think eds? {Ed007's Note - I can't see him returning to Utd. I rely on you guys to keep me up to date with up and coming youth players at Utd and I hadn't seen much of Pogba at all until his move to Italy. I can certainly see why most of you heaped so much praise on him.}

Best player to walk through the ranks since scholes IMO and should have been thrown in despite what many in here thought.

Fair enough Fresh mate. We all need to keep hold of hope. But I just don't see him ever returning. I expect him to stay at Juve for another couple of years at which point he'll either move to one of PSG or Monaco or he'll head to Spain with Real Madrid. I don't see him returning to England and if he did I can only see him going to City unfortunately.

I think we need to learn our lessons with Pogba.

First off we need to be giving minutes to exceptional lads in our academy. We may need to trim the sqaud in order to do that. But ultimately we don't need players who aren't good enough or players who offer very little taking playing time away from talented young lads who could be special.

Secondly I think its madness that we only give these young players like Pogba and Januzaj a three year contract upon joining our academy. At the end of the day we've gone to a lot of trouble to bring these lads in, its obvious that they are going to take a year or two before they are going to be ready for the first team. At which point they only have a year left on their contract and we get stuck in this awful position.

I understand why the club maybe don't wanna give then a long term contract in case they don't turn out to be all that. But maybe a three year deal with a two year option for us to automatically extend it would be a better idea.

Shappy
under 18 you can only sign a three year contract

Cheers Jred, I actually remembered that after I posted last night.

I think we need to do more when they turn 18 to give them a longer contract. Even if that means lining the pockets of a few agents.

Apparently Pogbas agent got 5m for getting him to sign for Juve, I say apparently as no ones knows exactly how much he got. But one thing is for sure, Juve gave the agent more money than we were prepared to give him.

The result being that we lose Pogba to Juve where he's now valued at over 20m and we spend 27m on Fellaini.

If we just gave Pogbas agent the 5m Juve supposedly gave him than we would be 22m better off and have Pogba playing for us week in week out instead of Fellaini.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but nothing can be done over Pogba now. But knowing what we know now would you rather us give Januzajs agent 5m and get him tied down to a 5/6 year contract or do we want to spend another 25m on a player who probably won't be as good?

11.) 11 Oct 2013
I know i'd rather tie him down now. Even if things didn't work out for the lad I could see his sell on value would being more than that as he is quality. But the loss of Pogba was a big deal and I know he would have been immense for us if he was given the chance.
Paying Pogba's agent 5 million and giving him game time would have been a tricky situation. We are known to dislike dealing with greedy agents so that would have been the biggest stumbling block. That and Pogba's lack of patience.
If Pogba was still at united now he would be getting game time.

Whilst he is a good player, I hope we never go back for him. IMO he is trouble and as Ed02 has pointed him leaving had nothing to do playing time.

I agree with syd he will go where the money is and we will never be where the most money is. City, chelsea, monaco, PSG is where he will end up. Does Anelka ring a bell for anyone?
