Firstly the news about rebuilding or renovating OT is great news and I’m all for NEW TRAFFORD even if we have to change the name! It has become dated and as an Irish man it’s like going to the Aviva Stadium only to realise it’s Lansdowne Road.

The FIFA cam on Sky sports is a joy to watch and Arsenals game should some great off the ball runs etc.

So with our seriously OD stadium those that mean OT can not provide the same follow the ball camera?

I'm all for a new build too as long as it's on the adjacent land beside the current stadium. I feel an upgrade to the current stadium will just be short term.

A new build is a lot easier than doing a major upgrade as they are messy when you have an operating asset and parts of it are under redevelopment.

The fact that it is part of the plans is very positive and so far very good. feels like we are on the road to recovery with SJR. Long road ahead imo.

Weren't the architect's brought in back in 2022 to tell us the options.

Honestly I would rather SJR held onto any major investment in the stadium and focus on the playing side and buying out the Glazers one by one if that's what it takes.

I don’t think the two are mutually exclusive Grim. There’s only so much we can spend on the squad with FFP restrictions, and longer term funds will be allocated to the releveloped or new stadium and training facilities.

I am for building a new stadium alongside OT. Need to stop emotional attachments to buildings and realise the potential. Look at Madrids new stadium. Having the existing stadium, if useable whilst building, means we don’t have to relocate for 2 years. The big question is funding, we have a large debt that because of the Glazers will need paying and almost certainly will affect further borrowing to build anything.

I hope your right Eric.

Have to say been impressed with SJR so far, coming across as an owner who has a vision and a sense of purpose, so different to the ones who see us as a piggy bank.

Lots of emotions attached to Old Trafford so going to a tough sell to supporters to support a new stadium but, I’m sure that the supporters of Spurs felt the same about WHLane and now seem to be really proud of their new amazing stadium, with the old home being for nostalgia only.
