We will not hear about a deal in the press first. There will be a statement from the club in accordance with legal requirements for public companies.

Don’t even think the glazers know what they’re doing. Be half way thru the window SJR will win and then we will have the same old embarrassed window, Kim would’ve been nicked by Newcastle, Real would’ve seduced Kane and Mount will still be stuck at can’t agree a fee stage.

It’s been a while since I worked on large deals but there’s a framework that parties work to that are binding, if they have transitioned to preferred bidders from expression of interest and letters of intent then this could get very very messy.

I’m obviously not privy to all the details and the contractual framework the vendor and acquiring parties are working within. Under what would be standard procedure the vendor can’t entice in another party at the eleventh hour once you’ve passed certain milestones on the process. This would caused a storm of legal problems.

It could get very messy indeed if Ratcliffe is trying to do a deal which subverts the minority interests of the non voting shareholders. It's been conjectured that the whole thing could end up in court in the Cayman Islands. For this reason, as much as I abhor what's going on, I believe a clean deal for 100% private control is in the best interest of the fans.

I think the Glazers know exactly what they are doing.
