Preseason summary of squad.

De Gea. Again, has shown his class with some excellent saves, albeit still not displaying the dynamism of the modern GK. ten Hag will absolutely seek to replace him soon.
Dalot. Solid showings with only a couple of fluffings. Quality of a back-up, not good enough for first team imo.
Laird. Needs to step up a level and find himself. As yet, not good enough.
Malacia. Clever, calm and composed - three attributes not seen in Shaw and Telles. He's a better defender, better passer, better going forward and is positionally sound. Will certainly finish the season as first-choice.
Shaw. Still yet to show his talents on a consistent basis and is always let down badly by his IQ.
Telles. Simply not good enough.
Maguire. Has looked more solid, but still the same issue concerning recovery pace. Has been let down by defensive partners. Should start.
Varane. The Rolls-Royce, albeit one with shot tyres and a spluttering exhaust. Useful back-up.
Lindelof. No improvement seen so should be nowhere near a starter.
Bailly. There's an argument that he should be 4th choice ahead of Lindelof. For his own sake, he should be sold.
Martinez. Looks the business, nuff said.
Fred. Again, no improvement. Should never be a starter, good squad option though.
McTominay. One of the most overrated players I've ever seen in the shirt. A lanky poor man's Fletcher, should be sold.
Van de Beek. Bench warmer, nothing else.
Savage and Iqbal. These two are excellent prospects who should be ahead of McFred already. They're absolutely good enough.
Hannibal. I love this kid, he's got the beast in him. That said, he's not really made a statement. Loan is necessary.
Shoretire. Been shortchanged this preseason and deserves a better look, hopefully he'll kick on regardless. Might need a loan.
Fernandes. Still showing the good, the bad and the ugly on a regular basis, needs to rediscover his composure and sort out his attitude.
Eriksen. For me, has already played his way into the starting lineup. Truly immaculate player who, like Mata, has a key for every lock.
Chong. Should be sold, nothing more to say.
Amad. Needs a PL loan.
Pellistri. Another loan could be his making.
Sancho. Has looked better in a proper system. Sure fire starter.
Rashford. Injury-free and not being criticised from all angles, he could tear it up this season. Again, works better in this much improved system.
Elanga. Still has work to do, impact sub.
Martial. Hopefully, we can see the real deal once again. I'm still not confident though.
Ronaldo. Personally, in an ideal world, I'd sell him. However, who do United get in? Stick or twist, he's still mustard.
Garnacho. This kid is going to be world-class. 2 more years and he'll be a destroyer.

To finish, I'd like to say that this season will be fun to watch, but I still don't see a top 4 finish.

Enjoy the season people, that's what football's for.

I thought Laird was so good today it might make the club think again about sending him on loan, our options there are not good at all and without a signing he should get minutes.

Agree on Iqbal, looks a class above some of the other kids and should get a chance. As with Garnacho who has all the ability to be one of the best.

You forgot about Garner. So let me do it for you.

Garner was meh. It was clear when Iqbal came on for him. Suddenly we were able to play through Rayo's press but with garner we were struggling.

There are a few players I don't really want us to loan or sell.
Amad and Pellestri have had terrible loans being sanctioned.
Pellestri only for a few mins, but started to look good and almost scored.
Amad today scored a goal, being at the right place right time. He was full of running and playing CF for us is extremely difficult and finally it was looking like a player that has a future.
I'd want both of these guys to stay and be under ETH, a proper coach atleast until the winter.
Garnacho, he's ready, he looked a threat whenever he got the ball and second half he was getting closed down by 2 defenders. Testamant.
Iqbal sparked the second half, he's been really impressive and our only box to box player who can drive with the ball.
Bailly, this season is going to be difficult. I think we need 5 CBs, I will keep Bailly.
I'm on the fence for Alex telles too, third choice LB.
Laird was so full of running, all I could think of was Antonio Valencia. Going forward I have no issues with him, he was driving with the ball, crossing was better than AWB but defensively he can get switched off and I feel with proper coaching and work it can be improved. Laird ran like a beast imo.

I’m not sure if we learned enough about many of the players over the last two matches. There is certainly a great deal of promise with the young players, particularly Garnacho and Iqbal. Baird not yet ready I feel. Chong not good enough. Decision making poor. It’s clear where our weaknesses lie. Right back, centre mid and up top. Iqbal will be a top player - in time. We need to replace the dreadful Fernandes. It has been said that he is maybe intimidated by the presence of Ronaldo. He wasn’t there yesterday so that’s not an excuse. He is so off the pace and, again, like Chong his decision making is questionable.
