I would say the position we need most is CB. The player I would like most in any position is Haaland but I can’t see this with Cavani now in (who looks superb) and I think City will be more likely. With James, Greenwood and presumably Diallo as the RW option, most people still cite that position as a priority. I wonder if there is an older player out there able to play on both flanks, to give competition in both areas. Anyone spring to mind?

Spenno, of course we do need a pacey CB with better positioning and reading of the game but first we need better defensive coaching to start with. On numerous occasions this season our defenders have been poor and it looks like there is no communication whatsoever.

In the Leicester game we had 2 CBs in the box and as the ball was about to be played both of them went in the same direction allowing Vardy to move back and have a free shot at goal. Just don't understand why we are still playing with zonal marking as our defense is clearly not good at that. There were only 2 Leicester players inside the box at that instance and had our CBs marked them each and stayed close we probably don't concede.

RW seems to be the priority but I think it's more of a right attacking forward we are looking for rather than a pure winger as we do not have a natural striker in our ranks to take advantage of any deliveries into the box.

As far as striking options Cavani is only a short term fix and both Rashford and Martial although they have improved in terms of goals, don't really have the instincts and are prone to missing chances every now and then and it almost looks like they are too casual with their finishing at times. We do need a striker and Haaland would be perfect but looks unlikely as you say.

Our priority should be a CB and a ST and going forward we need to get in a pure DM.
