Worrying about the Mason Mount deal, he has only 12months left on his contract, didn't have great season last year, had injuries, why would you pay such a high price. He would have been offered a decant wage at Chelsea, we have obviously offered more, we made 3 high bids, time to move on, sign on a free next year if we still want him.

Why not tell Mount and agree with him to sit tight and then come back in January with an offer of say £30m when he has only six months contract left?

Ed in regards to tapping up rules etc, if we said that to his agent is that allowed? Or are there strict guidelines in terms of the conversations that can be had with agents?

Sorry to reply and ask but after 3 bids rejected we walk away and then January he will be open to signing a pre contract with any team he chooses.

Is it not possible at all for Mount to sign for Utd rather than Utd sign Mount January.
