Tumbleweed I know what stalwart means and collyer may become good or great. Today he is showing signs of it and is 18/ 19 and while I believe you and maze are related you bark a lot of opinion and criticism to posters on here but have you forgotten I've watched your games for the rumours teams and Stevie wonder wasn't impressed with you skills. Tom Daly was however with double roll diving.

Collyer's 21 mate - born the same day as Baleba who is a far superior player.

Good? Yes.
Great? No chance.

Dear oh dear. Rdf you posted opinion opinion i posted mine. I think he is very average and far from a stalwart if you think he has become a stalwart i don't think you do understand the meaning of the word. He has played more pre season mins over 3 seasons than he has competitive mins. So in my opinion not barking it he is not going to be a stalwart at any time.

I think this year we will see an absolute decline in Casemiro, to the point we require someone else to step up - be that Collyer or Kone.

(I DO NOT THINK WE ARE SIGNING ANY MORE OUTFIELD PLAYERS)

Collyer from what I have seen is always in the mix in the middle, mainly breaking up play and being a nuisance to the opposing team.
Kone on the other hand, does all that, but also poses an attacking outlet.
Both will have a future at utd, I am sure, however, Collyer is more the Nicky Butt midfielder, whereas Kone is more of the Keane mold.
As time passes on and Collyer has a desire to become a first teamer, he may decide to move on, especially if Kone displaces him in the future.

I've not seen kone play a competitive minute of men's football so its hard to say jimbob.
Collyer has done OK when he played decent tekkers but imo will not have a long term future at the club. He got a couple of chances due to our injury list at the time he did OK and was mainly played out of position. I hope he goes on to have a good career but I just see him taking short of the standard required at united and I don't think he will be anything like butt or o shea who filled holes all the time and played 100s of games.

Jimbob I think we will sign at least 2 more outfield players. What makes you think we won't.
Extremely weak in the cf position and cm position.
I think cb is weak enough but will probably not get the funding required.
Cf we are very very weak. Rasmus looks like his struggles well continue at united zirkzee has an awful lot to prove and obi is miles off imo.
Cm really needs a new player. Colleyer has time to improve but again imo is miles off the standard and casimero has no legs for the epl.
This 2 positions really do need new players to come in.
Im hoping we get some Saudi cash to help with Anthony and shaw both being linked. I have no idea if there is any truth in the Shaw rumours but that would be a miracle result if they came in for him and Anthony.

I think Rasmus will be better this year, whether that will be good enough time will tell. I agree with you on Colleyer and Obi. They are young but I haven't seen anything that says they will be first teamers any time soon. I hope Shaw is sold.

Personally I don’t see how Rasmus could be worse this year but I agree this season he could be different.
Before he relied on service from Garnacho and Rashford - neither know how to pass or cross which is crazy for a winger.
Hopefully with Mbuemo and Cunha he’ll get service and start putting some in the net.

Let's hope so Ps.
I get that argument and thought process it will be interesting to see if he improves. I'm hoping we don't have to give him the chance and that we get someone else in.

Hey Ken,
Here is my thinking.

Purely comes down to outgoings of course, but I think we can all agree a 23man squad is the preference from Amorim, and to be honest, we don't need much for the games we have this year.
Taking 23 as the max.
KEEPERS
Onana/ Lammens/ Heaton (Assuming Bayindir goes, Lammens seems straight forward business to me. )
DEFENCE
Amad/ Dalot - seems locked in
Dorgu/ Leon- seems locked in
Yoro/ Mazraoui - seems locked in
MdL/ Maguire - seems locked in although perhaps a late move for Maguire AND Shaw might change the CB situation
Heaven/ Licha/ Shaw - Seems locked in

As noted above - if Shaw AND Maguire were to depart, I think a move for a CENTRAL CB to upgrade MdL would be smart business - but I cannot see it this window.

Midfield
Ugarte/ Mainoo/ Casemiro/ Collyer - I hear Collyer might be set for a loan, that might leave the door ajar for Kone to take his spot. I can only see a mid signed IF Casemiro departs, in which case it would be for an upgrade on the starting pair of Ugarte/ Mainoo. No point buying someone to play a bit part role IMO. Mount can play there is required, so can Bruno and Licha - even Mazraoui if required - that would be an injury list nightmare again to get to that point.

10's
Mbuemo/ Bruno
Cunha/ Mount

Strikers
Rasmus/ Zirkzee

The Attacking 3 positions is where I think we might see movement - but again it will depend upon outgoings.
I don't rate Mount, and would like him gone - in that instance, I would say we have an opening, but more likely we would take the cash and promote, as we are quite rich in that area - especially if Garnacho does not end up departing and is reintegrated as an understudy to Cunha - seems unlikely, but let's see how it pans out.

Striker - I don't see Rasmus leaving this year, and I think (well documented by me) that Zirkzee could be a very pivotal player for the 10's - he's just such a smart player IMO. so perhaps strikers are also locked in, unless a late move for Rasmus is on the table.

The big conundrum for me is where to play Bruno! I don't think as part of the midfield 2 is the correct path. does he dislodge one of Mbeumo/ Cunha in the 10's? Or does he sit as a fake 9, similar to a Zirkzee preferred role? In the latter instance, are we then light on for the 10's?

Fundamentally, the departures will likely dictate any further moves.

Its always been the case that departures dictate.
Imo there will be several more. No way we go into the season with those striking options.
I think the penny will drop for a few before the window closes that they are wanted just as little as the bomb squad. Wc in the summer so lots of guys need games to have a chance and they won't get games at united.
