In terms of mooted targets, you've got to feel for Danilo.

What a horrible start to the season for Forest and what a mean blow that is for a player who had such a fantastic first season in the PL.

Fingers crossed for a swift and happy recovery.

Haven't seen the incident, sounds like I don't want to. Any incident when the ground staff need to hold up privacy barriers while the medics assist the player must be pretty awful. I hope he has a full recovery and gets back to full fitness soon.

Horrible news and the last thing a player would expect less than ten minutes into a new season. Hope it isn’t as bad as it first appears.

awful and don't want to see it and really hope he has great recovery. Also just read angel Gomes has had a scary incident. Pray for both being okay and recovering.

It was a bad break, looked like a double break. From what I read it wouldn't have happened if the linesman had flagged for an offside but let the play run and this was the result.

TOT,

Careful about what you read mate, absolute nonsense, people have been trying to make out that linesman correctly allowing the game to continue will result in an injury for ages and this certainly wasn’t the reason here.

Injuries are a part of the game, and there is always a tricky balance for officials to tread between keeping players safe and allowing the game to unfold naturally without constant disruption.

Players have always been told to play to the whistle, and unless an official is sure that an offence has happened then they should allow the game to continue.

People think that VAR has made a massive change to this, but it hasn't in all fairness. Linesmen have always been told to not flag unless they are certain, with goals being allowed to stand despite replays showing it was offside.

While humans referee the game then there will always be human error in the decision making process.

I feel deeply sorry for Danilo and Angel Gomes who both suffered bad injuries over the weekend. There are often more injuries like this early in the season as players aren't yet fully up to speed, both in terms of fitness and match sharpness.

I wish them both a speedy recovery, and hope we don't see anymore bad injuries over the coming weeks and the rest of the season.
