I love how Villa have a zero percentage chance but still have odds hahah.

We should get over the line but taking form into this equation and our fixtures, I wouldn't be 1/ 8 confident.

Shappy, whilst you are the most likely to get top four football does strange things.

I wonder what the odds were in 99 or Istanbul? Leicester were 5000/ 1 and I know we were completely written off against barca.

Football is the sport we love because its so unpredictable and right now we have no expectations. We might win all four and miss out, we might lose all four.

But the fact its even a discussion has added a little fun to a rather bleak season.

Mumbles who from Fulham, Bournemouth, Wolves, Chelsea and West Ham from our remaining fixtures has you quaking in your boots?

Fulham are the highest positioned team we have left to play, they are 10th, the others are 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th in the league.

While our away form has been iffy (against top half sides), our home form is amongst the best in the league. Three of those games are home games, with away games against West Ham and Bournemouth.

I'd back a decent Sunday league team to embarrass Lampard and Chelsea on their current form. Scored 1 goal in the entire month of April, while they defend like a dog chasing a crisp packet in the wind.

As for our form, it's clear that the players are running on empty. We don't have the legs to play on the front foot for 90 minutes, and we don't have the bench to rotate. That said we have always bounced back after a disappointing result under EtH. I'd expect to he same on Sunday.

Ideally we win our next three games, and secure top four so we can rest our players in the final couple of games ahead of the FA cup final. Otherwise we will really struggle against City with our players as tired as they are.

If not then hey ho and we do the best we can.

WYred, you can always upset the odds in a one off game. That's why the FA cup is so special.

Leicester are the anomaly, but the fact that once in living memory has a unexpected side won the league, highlight how rare that is.

The top half four are done in my opinion. There will be some squabbling over who gets the Europa League and who gets Europa Conference football. While the real interest from here on our will be the relegation fight (as has been the case most seasons over the past 20 years) .

Shaps I'm just back from Bruce Springsteen, apologies for the short reply. We lose against West Ham and wolves Bournemouth and Fulham are tricky fixtures.

Liverpool and Brighton are in form. We are not. We should have enough to get over the line, but it wouldn’t surprise me if we finish fifth.

Redseven, Liverpool and Brighton are in form. Our club is currently 6th in the form table.

Fortunately we don't have to play any sides who are currently in better form than ourselves. In fact we have to play sides who are in really poor form, relegation form to be exact.

Everyone is worried about what other clubs are doing, when we have everything in our own hands. We are in better form than the teams we will face. We got this.

I hope your team are not as complacent as you Shappy, it isn’t done until you win those three games. Until then there is a chance and we have to hope you slip up. Plus, you literally say the team is running on empty if that continues every game will be tough.

Personally I think WHU is tough
You should beat both wolves and Fulham, but wolves could be tricky.
Bournemouth have had some very good results at home.
Chelsea may have a new manager by then if they can get their long term replacement in, it’s pointless leaving lamps to bury the little reputation he has left. Plus they may be motivated to spoil your CL dreams.

All we can do is keep the pressure up and hope you falter, but if you don’t, the table doesn’t lie and you would deserve it.

And maybe I shouldn’t of used one of games to illustrate my point, but there are plenty of instances where things happen in football that defy odds. Great escapes, last minute CL charges, teams throwing away healthy leads in the race for a title or unlikely cup runs. It’s why we love the game as it keeps us all on our toes.

Shappy ? I think that’s the shortest post I have ever seen you write.
