I'm pretty laid back about it all, some signings will work out and some won't. I remember 1998 when we won nothing, I think we bought Stan, Yorke, and Blomquist the following summer and won the treble the year after. When Keane left we bought Carrick and then won the Leagur 3 years running.

It's not just about getting new players, it's about gelling the ones we have, developing some of them, getting the best from them. I think we all agree that PP will step it up this year, perhaps Martial will get his head straight, Rashford will hopefully continue to progress, these things are just as important as new signings.

Stan went largely unnoticed when we won the treble, but what a player gave everything.

I see all the doom and gloom too.
I think what we are clearly lacking is midfield cover and a winger.
I still think both Rashford and Martial have goals in them and there isn't the need to buy another striker.
Although if we are going to spend 70m on someone I'd rather it be Time Werner.
German players do adapt well here and would come at reasonable prices.

Great post AJH. It's all about gelling. I think Jose is looking at getting in the right kind of players to fill the roles he wants, rather than go about buying the big names.

I agree fully and especially with this line:

"You'll all be moaning when there's a few weeks left and we have done our business".

We see it every summer and it is something that always annoys me. The earlier we sign our players the more people will moan towards the end of the window begging us to announce whoever we have been linked with in the press that day.

I just saw someone on Twitter say 'I don't care who we announce just please United make a signing'. This sums up the fanbase these days, forget all the players we signed last summer or the other squad members it's all about signing new players and NOW!
