Stand, I've only just seen your reply and it's a long way down the page. I agree with you, I think everyone agrees with you, but my point is some people want to say the same thing every day, several times a day. There have been some great posts today which make a change from the frenzy of negativity we have had recently. I'm not having a go, we all know we have spent millions and are still not looking like the finished article as well as being incredibly dull. I just come on here for banter and debate and it was all getting a bit suicidal.

Haha no worries mate, I'm probably one of the ones who's a repeating moaner to be honest. Just find it hard to believe how poor we have become, especially with the money we've spent etc the past 3 years. Two facts heard today, Ozil and Cazorla have created more chance this season that all our players combined. The second was only West Brom have had less shots. If anyone is stil under any illusion of how poor we really are playing, then they tell a story.

I think lvg has made us play above the talent of our players. You cannot say blind, jones, carrick, ronney, Roho, Valencia, and young are at best squad player and then say our manger is under achieving. Last year we should have finished bottom half. this year top four at best.

I might look like one but I stand behind my statement.

With the amount of injuries we had last year and the form of our strikers I think he did an amazing job last year.

I think BWM has got a point, LVG seems intent on his philosophy which is similar to Peps teams, however the players we have got, and the passing ability and vision of some players is lacking at best, we still lack that Scholes type player who can control a game, Bastian was bought in and he has so far failed to impress. Also the most creative players seem to be wide players and they are clearly being stiffled by this philosophy, and the whole team looks lost at times. No matter how much I love Rooney he's not a natural leader on the pitch, but perhaps that is only because he feels he has no control, as LVGs system is so rigid. I quite admire LVGs system as sometimes we look unbeatable and have total control of games, but then the next game we seem to drift back to a definite lack of vision and creativity. The system is on the brink of achieving something quite impressive IMO, but were still just short of 18 months into his reign, and we are miles ahead of where we were this time last season. I think AJH has made the perfect point, that we all want the same thing, and that is a nice to watch attacking style of play, but its a process, as LVG himself has reminded us so many times, and no matter how much the same point is repeated on here its not going to achieve anything and until we either become what we want, or LVG goes, then we may as well just support the team.

Wasn't it supposed to take 3 months for his team to adapt to his philosophy? 18 months later and they are still getting nowhere. LVG is a myth.

This team has plenty of talent but a footballing style that is easy to defend against and the core of our issues. Shoring up our defending by having 6 or 7 people behind the ball at all times does not take a coaching genius. We might as well hire the West broom manager as he is brilliant at that.

Probably quite a few coaches out there right now that would get us firing on all cylinders.

Fergie would crush the league with this team and yes i know he is not coming back.

Watched Spurs last night and whilst Pochetino also advocates ball retention and playing out from the back, they are so positive and their midfielders are always looking to dribble past a man and go forward. Our Midfielders don't even try and take the safe approach and pass it back.

I am sure the opposition loves it as it must be so easy to defend against this type of football evident by our anaemic goal count and chances created. Every team in the league look like world class defensive units against us.

If you are advocating that LVG style is right and the players are not good enough, you might be waiting for a long time if you think we need the types of messi, bale, ronaldo to make this thing work as none are coming and that does not take a managerial genius.

Fergy always had talent this team does not have the attacking talent. And with only one center back yes you have to play six or seven behind the ball. we need another striker and a winger to compete. Lvg ask and gave plenty of option for these type player and we either did not spend or teams would not give them up.

BWM

Fergie brought out the talent and positives in even average players and gave them belief.

For those of us who have played football at a decent level (I played at Ohio State), taking a man on, trying to go past him is part of playing football and yes losing the ball is also part of playing football, but in this team no one even tries, even worse no one tries a difficult pass for the fear of that it might get intercepted and no one shoots, strange way of playing the game. Then we have the free kick charade of Rooney and Mata all so stupid and kindergarden stuff.

Only a blind man keeps doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome and LVG is the Poster child for that.

He keeps this up for another 3 or 4 weeks you will see boo's at OT and people calling for his scalp, I am willing to bet to it. The christmas period and early January is not a kind month to under performing managers :)

We have had 5 games this year with one shot on target, pathetic if you ask me when you consider we have spend 300k a week wages on holding midfielder, a winger that people though was the second coming of Ronaldo and a great box to box midfielder and an italian international at right back and a super talent upfront.

A minority of the fans think if we buy this and that and then some more it will all come good.

Sound like the Liverpool page when things are not going well for them, the obvious solution is to buy more. Many times the solution is not buying more but fixing what's wrong with what you already have.

I can see people saying the same thing next year after another sending spree and arguing that more players need to be replaced and we are still in transition, eventually i guess if you turn over 50 players you might get there but I don't think the owners or the fans will be that patient.
