It was clear from the City line up that they came to defend and try amd nick a goal. Even their subs were negitive. They had Fernando on in place of Navas to start with pushing Toure slightly further forward. They had their best two defensive centre backs on. Then when they made changes they took off Sterling for Navas which is like for like, and took off Toure for Demicalis who is a defender/defensive midfielder.

They showed no ambition to win the game in the slightest.

We should take that as a compliment, that arguebly the best team in the league feels the need to switch to such negitive tactics when coming to Old Trafford.

But if we had a bit more ambition ourselves then the win was there for us. We clearly need a wide player with pace who is consistent.

Martial looks like our best wide man atm amd he is clearly needed to play as a striker.

The less said about Rooneys performance the better, 9 times he gave the ball away through poor touch or being tackled. And he only completed 56% of his passes, considering he attempted near forty then he passed the ball away around 16 times. that's 27 times he lost possession in that game, and still LvG didn't hook him.

Mata didn't have a great game but it should have been Rooney taken off for Lingard with Martial going up top and Lingard to the left.

The game against Boro is the perfect chance to "rest" Rooney without it being too big a deal. let's see what happens.

A point is a good result, but its a shame as three was there for the taking.

The City squad was decimated by injuries. They had to combat our lump it to Fellaini tactic so brought on Demechilis. The other two subs were attacking changes.

0-0 at home against a very weak City creating next to nothing is poor however we dress it up.

Don't recall it been lumped up to Fellaini once Beast?

You must be making that up? In fact Fellaini was quite deep in midfield and made some great runs with the ball!

Beast,

Very week Ciry side ?
Are you serious ?

they were missing Silva and Aguero, how much did De Bruyne, Sterling and Bony cost ?
Since when has missing two players qualified as 'decimated by injury ' ?

Beast,

Think you have been found out mate, people are on to you, you ignore the facts and create your own facts and then say people can't disagree with you.

I didn't say we lumped it to Fellaini. I am saying that City nullified that plan by bringing on Demechilis. I guarantee had Fernandinho or Fernando been left to mark the Wig it would have been lump it to the big man time - why would LVG all of a sudden change a habit of a lifetime?

Silva, Aguero, Clichy, Nasri, Delph - then Kompany half fit. All of those players bar Delph would be starting for us.

Aside from Shaw we were at full strength.

Read this page everyday it's a wonderful family we have here I just had to comment today as regards to beast common when as the loss of aguero and silva made them a very weak side city yaya de bruyne sterling even bony who were in fine form seriously city were contained I just thought rooney and my lovely Mata were not in the game and lvg should have ringed the changes earlier but I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel on the rooney issue am confused I think he needs a rest rooney is not a number 9 neither his he our best number 10 cheers guys.

Believe me if aguero and silva had played it would have been a more open game and we would have won we play better when teams attack us we raving about aguero and silva we just look down on ourselves didn't they play against west ham.

Clichy would not be starting 11 for United Beast, you're just showing again how little you know about the game.

Beast,

Nice one, trying to make out like Clichy, Nasri, Delph are suddenly important first team players to suit your argument. As for Fellaini, when he came on against CSKA he was'nt shoved up front for the ball to be hoofed up to him and it was quite clear he was'nt brought on just for that yesterday.

Tot66 - What are you talking about? I know a fair bit about the game maybe our views differ but to say so adamantly that the City first choice LB wouldn't be picked ahead of Rojo or Blind is frankly odd. Maybe it debateable but it certainly shouldn't be used as a weapon to say I know so little about the game.

Nasri would get the RW spot over Mata and I said Delph wouldn't be first choice, however he is an England Intl and would add more than Schweiny has this season imo. On paper he wouldn't be picked but he is a miss for them. But all of those players would hurt us if their equivalents in our team were missing and ours aren't as good for the most part.

Beats mate u need to take those anti lvg glasses off, if aguero and silva were fit utd would have won the game, now u may think this as funny but i think silva bieng fit would have won utd the game, one of the biggest reasons martial was nullified at times and why mata was invisible was bcz fernando and fernandinho were closing down and defending very well, a fit silva would have meant yaya dropping in to midfield which would have helped utd than hindered. and nasri won't start ahead of mata or any one at man utd and clichy is not city first choice kolarov is clichy is preferred at times bcz he is more defensive, than kolarov, so why not be a manu utd fan once in a while than being the anti-lvg mascot all the time.

This is nothing to do with LVG. This is scrutinising the talent City have available compared to us. The players they had missing would mostly walk into our team, therefore this was a significant opportunity for us to go for a win.

Just one question i have for you Beast! Correct me if i am wrong, didn't the so called silva and aguero play last season when we beat them woefully 4-2? That's all i got to say as you are bend of only seeing negatives with LVG and the team. I don't know the team you were watching yesterday but we were never boring. We were the only one willing to get a win, city were all over their own half defending with two defensive minded midfielders. You are just an anti-LVG bandit.

Andy - We attacked during that run of games, played with tempo and urgency that has long vanished. You need your eyes testing mate if you don't think that game was boring, or I would hate to see a game you did think was boring, it would be suicide inducing stuff I'm sure.

Everyman and his dog found that game dull, we were the home team with a major advantage. CSKA was a similar game but more excusable because we travelled.

Anyway, I can see LVG approaching got to get my Zoro mask on!
