Not sure if it’s been asked, but do any of the Ed’s know if there is a plan to sign a new forward if the club decide against Reintroducing Greenwood? We definitely need another goal scorer in the squad and it’s starting to look, rightly so, like Greenwood won’t be brought back.

I'm guessing unless there is a significant striker departure ie Martial we could be looking at another loan for the season. I wonder who might be available.

The only slightly credible player we seem to be linked with as a striker option is Mehdi Taremi the 31 year old Iranian international playing for Porto.

However, it seems that the club aren't interested in a striker but someone who can play off the striker or maybe as a false 9. Players like Kudus or Jonathan David spring to mind as possible options. No idea if there are credible links or whether the club budget could stretch to sign players like that.
