It does feel like the wheels have come off, a knackered team lacking ideas.

It’s an intense season, game free game after game and yet Rashford has played in every game, he looks exhausted and was dreadful last night. Bruno has played almost every game and he was also awful. The Manager has to rest and rotate but our 2 best players have been worked into the ground. I was surprised at Rashford’s stats being so good but that’s because he has been poor for recently. We know how great Bruno’s stats are but again he’s been at best average overall for a while.

Mata has looked lively when he has played, doesn’t get a sniff. DVDB cost 40M and his confidence must be shot as he has hardly featured. We keep taking about Amad having huge potential and whilst I realise he is young, 30 minutes here and there would be an idea.

Matic is frisky, probably because he has hardly played, same for Greenwood. James looks much improved and his energy and pace will be useful as players in all teams are knackered, even Telles would do a job on the left, but Rashford and Bruno keep getting picked when it is clear they are done.

This is poor management. Ole keeps mentioning we have lost our spark and has talked about tiredness yet he seems to be doing nothing about it. The danger here is the wheels haven’t just fallen off, they’ve rolled away and we will miss out on everything. What is our priority? Top 4 and a trophy? Top 4 or a trophy? Which trophy? A big squad can complete on all fronts but not in a shortened season when there is a game every 3 or 4 days.

This could end very badly.

He played a near full strength team in a 2nd leg we were winning 4-0. Three days before a match against one of our main rivals. Says it all really.

Welcome to purgatory!

We are Club run by investment bankers with zero football knowledge or expertise. The ambition of the Club extends no further than a top 4 finish in order to secure revenue streams and sponsorship opportunities. Expectations are dampened at every opportunity and incompetence in the transfer market means we are essentially a top 4 yo yo Club. We merely exists, we have no purpose or drive to improve and the Club has stagnated. The stench of mediocrity, incompetence and decay now permeates every aspect of the Club from the players, to the manager, the CEO, the owners, even the stadium and the training facilities. A Club once renowned for excellence is now synonymous with mediocrity and apathy.

Ole’s comments after we went top of the league were ill conceived and not befitting of a manager in charge of one of the biggest Clubs in the world. He dampened expectations, possibly to take pressure away from the players but most of them need a fire igniting in their soul and must understand that inconsistency and mediocrity is not tolerated at a Club like Manchester United.

When Jose lectured us about football heritage following Champions League surrender to Seville in what was one of the most cowardly and uninspiring games ever to be played at the Theatre of Dreams the expectations of this once great Club were laid bare. Ole’s comments were equally as worrying and merely represent a Club severely lacking leadership, identity, direction and ambition.

Ole’s job will no doubt be safe if he scrapes another top 4 finish and he is already dampening expectations, preparing us for yet another summer transfer window of excruciating incompetence as the investment bankers saunter around Europe on urgent transfer business in their cheap suits and economic degree from Bristol University. At least this year they’ll have an excuse for their incompetence, C.V. but we’re not fooled we’ve seen it all before.

Sadly Ole is toeing the party line, dampening expectations and preparing us for yet more mediocrity. He’s become another representation of the Club, believing a top 4 finish is good enough, kicking the good fight down the road. Regardless of league position, performances such as Sheffield United, WBA and Crystal Palace should not be accepted and do not represent progression. Champions League capitulation is not acceptable and a top 4 finish should be no hiding place for mediocrity. Sadly Ed Woodward and Co think differently and will only act when precious revenue and sponsorship opportunities are at risk.

Welcome to purgatory!

I didn't post back a couple of weeks ago, that IGS needed to get his priorities right when it come s to the EL and fighting for second place.

He is costing him now by not playing DVB, Tuanzebe, Mata and Bailly enough.

Lindelof and Maguire are shocking. We won't win the league with those 2 as our CB pairing.

Spot on Tony.

I keep saying that Ole playing his favourites will cost him his job - because his favourites look knackered and as a result are underperforming. God forbid Bruno or Rashford get a serious injury. That will leave us at serious risk of freefall.

Last night was the ideal fixture to play VDB as part of the 2.
It's Crystal Palace for crying out loud. They concede for fun.
Play your possession players and let them dictate the tempo.
Matic has been impressive with his range of passing, he's neat and tidy like VDB, I think the two of them would've controlled things last night.

I'm not picking on Fred but he kept misplacing simple passes out wide and it meant we couldn't get a rhythm going.

I agree with Ed077 down the page.
Ole is burning out Bruno and Rashy.

Last season Rashford suffered stress fracture on his back due to overplaying him. I feel he is thinking only for the short-term.

I was thinking the same last night Wazza.
Give Matic and VDB a go together.

Did any one else think with Matic most of the game dropping in alongside Maguire and Bailly that our options to pass out from the back became incredibly limited?!

Very congested space in the centre for Fred and Bruno so the only option was to pass it out wide to AWB or Shaw.

Very frustrating to watch.
