Are we still interested in Rice and does the club stand any chance of securing his signature?

Very sad to hear, he’d be perfect for what we need.
Who do you think we’ll end up signing Ed out of those you’ve mentioned?

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know but Amrabat is in discussions with another side. Rice and Caicedo. Thuram and Milinkovic-Savic are likely not possible. Sabitzer is on the maybe list still. Arthur Vermeeren remains an option and Mason Mount can be completed. Kovacic and Frattese are moving elsewhere. Bayern Munich are upgrading Leon Goretzka and Gravenburch - so possible options. De Jong perhaps but I would not waste time chasing for long. I think Kudus is a very good option for midfield but it is tough to see how he would fit with Silva.}

Gravenburch looked a top player prior to the Bayern move Ed, interested to see how he kicks on elsewhere. De Jong would be amazing but I agree if we spend all Summer waiting around, it would be crazy.
Mount is looking promising provided Chelsea don’t price us out. I know very little of Vermeeren.

I’d say Gravenvberch looking likely out of that lot and I wouldn’t be unhappy if it was him plus maybe Sabitzer as a quality squad option too? Timber from Ajax and a striker (any actual striker is an upgrade), and all of a sudden we’re in business.

£100m for Rice is a joke - he’s a good player, but never dominates a game like the top midfielders do and Arsenal can have him.

Now Caicedo would be a great move, sadly looks destined elsewhere.

I appreciate all the above is wishful thinking.

Like the potential of Arthur Vermeeren: looks like he'd be great value to bring in and become Casameiro's eventual successor.

At the end of the window, would be very happy with:

GK: Diogo Costa

DM: Arthur V

CM: Mason Mount

Striker: Rasmus Hoijland

Sales might allow additional CB (Timber? ) and striker

Youngsters coming back in/ getting minutes also:

Amad

Hannibal

Mainoo

Ethan Laird

Alvaro Fernandez

Why would we want timber he will disappoint in the PL. We have two right backs so not an option there and he is average as a CB. He is perfect for Italy and not the PL imo. Read Arsenal are bidding on him, good luck to them and hope we stay away from this.
