We bought two good No10 in MBueno and Cunha, a CF in Sesko. Not starting Sesko was ridiculous, basically RA was trying to protect the woeful Centre Mid. Having decided we needed two new No10, why are we playing the old one in an alien holding role? Why when RA says Bruno wasn't quite right did he not take him off?

Compare what I said on here pre game "If I was Fulham I would have three CM because we need to be honest, a Cas Bruno pair is poor. ". To what Marco Silva said post game " We know they play with two in the middle, we tried to overload with our three plus Alex. It was as simple as that"

What he didn't say but must have known is Cas and Bruno is a terrible pairing. CM was a key area for strengthening after CF. Five points lost already because we have not done the necessary business.

The club made the decision to replace the No10 position, so deal with it. Bruno should not be captain, should not be starting and should be taken off if not focused as he clearly wasn't yesterday.

RA needs to wake up on Bruno because if this continues and he doesn't deal with the Bruno issue it could cost him his job and I really do not want that to happen.

Spot on. It’s time for Bruno to move on. Shirt term pain for longer term gain. We need energy and control in the middle desperately.

If ruben carrys on with this ridiculous formation and tactics he'll be gone in Nov. wide open. Either play bruno as 10, or not at all. he was hopeless yesterday but its not really his fault. Need 2 pivot midfielders in there, its so obvious except to ruben. yesterday felt like last season which sadly is a worry. Just can't see it working as ruven just doesn't seem to see it.

Simple way to put it. if we had mbueno . cunha and sesko and needed a midfielder or maybe 2 as desperate as we are and Bruno was 25 years old and at sporting Lisbon would we think wow he is what we need in this team? No, we wouldn't we need a different type of midfield/ midfielders. sell him and re invest in what we need. oh yes and our keepers are awful.

He is probably making it abundantly clear to his superiors that they are in dire need of reinforcements in CM.
I remember Fergie would play games like this with the board to get what he wanted.

Honestly I’m confused about what Amorim was trying to do. Should have moved to a 3-5-2 to stop their supply out wide which they were exploiting. Midfield got overrun (again) . For me it’s Amorim to blame for that performance.

Bruno should have been substituted yesterday but not sold. He is not a CM. Who will the next scapegoat be? We were all on here saying a new striker was the most important thing as Hoijland was not up to it. New striker, same rubbish. I don't get this manager at all.

While I am also impatient to see Sesko play regularly, I understand that he has joined the group late and needs to catch up with the team and understand the playing demands from the coaches.

He's young and we need to make sure we give him the best chance of success. Surely we can understand that after seeing what happens when you throw a young striker like Højlund into the team with all the demands when they aren't ready for it.

Sesko hasn't been signed to be United's first choice striker for the next 3 or 4 games, but for the next 7 or 8 years. If we want him to be successful and become the top striker his talent suggests he can be we need to be patient with him.

The problem yesterday wasn't leaving Sesko on the bench, it was not putting Bruno there.

We bought both Cunha and Mbeumo to play in what is considered to be Bruno's best position because despite him having a good season there last year, it was at the expense of the team. He isn't the ideal player for that role/ position in Amorim's system.

That alone highlights that while Amorim clearly appreciates Bruno's strengths (he keeps trying to fit him in the team and kept him captain), he isn't convinced that he is ideal for that role in his team.

While Bruno can play deeper in midfield, he has only been successful there in a midfield three. That works as there are two players who can cover for when he's out of position. While a player like Baleba might be good enough to cover for him 80% of the time, even that would just be a short term fix. Players such as Casemiro don't have the physical traits anymore to cover for Bruno as he needs to be able to play deeper. Ugarte while great at winning the ball, he can also be caught out of position due to his aggressive nature. Mainoo doesn't have either the natural defensive instincts or the stamina to cover for Bruno.

You could could literally pair any of Ugarte, Casemiro, Mainoo and Mount together and they would form a more balanced midfield than you could create by pairing any of them with Bruno.

While Lammens will be a welcome addition once that deal gets over the line, it's the midfield balance (caused by trying to crowbar Bruno into the team) that will cost us the most points this season.

Just let that sink in, playing Onana in goal all season will cost us less points than playing Bruno in the double pivot all season would.

Or maybe even easier drop the back 3 cbs to 2 and there is the extra midfielder and Bruno still stays and we are balanced… not rocket science having 3 CBs is hindering us not helping.
