Having slept on it, maybe was rustiness, new to what ETH wants in that system but we need to sharpen up quick or Spurs and Arsenal will both tears us to shreds. I think the Mount Bruno experiment will be short lived if we are getting overran like that, remember this is Wolves one of the faves for the drop that ran thru us at will, better teams will annihilate us. We was as exposed as Liverpool midfield was. Think we need some physicality in there so Onana and Amrabat please. Cas can't be left exposed like that and Bruno with Mount means Bruno's risk taking passes when they don't come off leave Cas vulnerable to runners. Maybe certain games that midfield works when understanding is better but we can't carry on like that.
Rashford was terrible last night yet somehow Garnacho who at least tried and had positive intent got most of the flack, lack of movement when he had the ball was a big issue, not that he was great but he does try and create something.
Hopefully Martinez injury isn't a bad one but special mention to Onana and Shaw for some good saves and blocks, though lucky Onana didn't clatter into the player attacking the ball as then it's a pen, AWB too I felt was decent.
We move on, 3 points but plenty for ETH to think about.

WRD let's call spade a spade. Garnacho was the worst player on the pitch. He tried doing everything by himself and kept running into walls of defenders or misplacing passes or hitting the top tier with his shots. I am not a rashford fan by any stretch of the imagination but whenever rashford moved to the left, heade things happen. On the right Antony was isolated and only time he looked doing anything was when AWB made that overlap.

I agree on the midfield though, we need Amrabat there but if we need Amrabat for teams like Wolves then the coaching isn't right.

I thought Rashford made a great shout for the right wing slot, as he certainly is no centre forward.

Onana decent with the ball at his feet and also very impressed with his performance over all. We do need to use his ability and work hard at playing out from the back, with the midfield involved, as the ball was recycled across the back line far too often.

Very weak in the centre of the park but certainly would help if we could control play further up the pitch, rather than the ball coming straight back at us, hence the very real need of a centre forward, who is not injured (btw did he have a medical? ) .

A lot of work still required on the training field but all in all a very poor performance from us but I'll take the 3 points all day long.

AWB was ok. But he’s not what we need to back Antony up. Dalot is a better fit because when you have a heavily left footed player (Antony) playing on the right, he’s always going to turn in. Therefore you need a quick and attack minded full back who can bomb on and give that outlet. AWB isn’t that player. The way that we’re set up we need a better full back full stop down that right hand side.

Antony is easy to defend until he learns to go on the outside and a delivery with his right foot, he did that once last night and he got in but the delivery was not great. We can talk about overlaps etc etc but he is limited. Garnacho and rash are much harder to defend as they go both ways and more effective imo.

For 85 million pounds and probably a much higher wage my expectations off him are always going to be higher than a 18 year kid from the academy who is just getting started. Garnacho had a bad game but he will learn and we have to give the boy time to develop.

I think Bruno had a howler yesterday giving the ball away, trying passes that were miles off and not not influencing the game much given his role and for me the biggest disappointment of them all.

Ahmad you don't need to sugarcoat it, you dislike antony. You have never said a good word about him even when he has had good games. On Garnacho i don't care if he is 18 or 80. If you are wearing the jersey and playing you have to be good enough. let's just hope Garnacho hasn't believed his own hype else he will go down the drain very soon. He is better coming on as a sub for now. He isn't ready to start games yet.

Its not about like or dislike and don't look at players that way and actually think his work ethic is great and he tries hard. Its more about expectations.

For 85 million you are suppose to have a lot more great games than the occasional good game. Not asking for 20 goals but maybe 10 goals and 7 or 8 assists a season in the pl.

Do you honestly believe an 18 year old boy just getting started and a 24 year old man with years of football under his belt at competitive level are to be judged equally, I guess we can agree to disagree.

Do you have the same expectations of let's say a Bruno compared to Mainoo or going to give the kid some slack to make mistakes and develop.

Ahmad, let's put it this way then - garnacho has come through the academy, knows the club ethos and has lived for a few years now while Antony has moved to England just about a year, last day transfer. Who should fit in better and who should get time to get accustomed to?

You continually beat the same drums and no matter what Antony does you’ll be on his back. Give the guy a break, the transfer fee is what it is. ETH wanted him and believes in him, so cut the sledging. You could try actually going to Old Trafford and getting behind the lads……

I thought Antony was ok last night tbh, he looked sharp and there were decent glimpses of creativity. I think he’ll be ok.

Garnacho has played a lot less games in the PL than Antony or top Flight football and physically not even at maturity I suspect.

Both been around the new manager at United same amount of time and if anything Antony knows eth better and what he wants having played for him at ajax.

I am not sledging and how does ones observations on a player become sledging.

He had 1 assist in 3O Pl games with plenty of quality players around him. That's a reflection of football IQ, ability, decision making imo and hard to teach, some players have it and some don't.

That does not cut the Mustard for united as a winger. Hopefully, Last season was a first season fluke and him getting used to league in terms of pace and physicality but he has to improve quite a bit.

Finally I support every player who puts the shirt on and hoping they do great and never wish anyone to fail.

Unfortunately, I don't live in England and Its a long trip for me and I try to get to few games a year. I went to both Cup finals last year. I was proud of the guys even after the FA cup, they played an unbelievable team in top form and lost but gave a good account of themselves.

its banter site and allowed to have a view on a player. If it makes you happy I can say he is amazing and incredible performance to date and from here onwards I will have nothing but praise Antony week in week out no matter what :)

Our preseason preparations for past two seasons have been woeful. We just weren’t ready yesterday. Last year we got smashed by Brighton and then Brentford, so not expecting a decent performance till we play forest. But we need to look at our preseason preparations.

I go to 2/ 3 games a year at OT. My son is at Uni in London and whenever I am there to see him and if there is a game at OT, we take the train and go watch the game. He has never been a football fan or followed it growing up but now a solid United supporter LOL

The cup finals I try and go to everyone and just buy tickets through the secondary market. Agreed impossible to get tickets and have to pay a premium to get them.
