Would love to hear your opinion on who Utd should be targeting as striker if you were ETH?
Considering the variables of age, premier league experience, potential etc who would be your no. 1?

ramos, koula muani if at a reasonable cost. Sesko who no one mentions is going to be very good. should light up the bundes liga next year.

Kane would be my number one target. He's as close to being a guarantee as any player available to us. He would bring pretty much everything we need from a striker, goals, ability to drop deeper and pick a pass, good hold up play, PL proven. The only thing against him is his age, but in my opinion, he is better than every other striker available at the things I've listed above.

If we can't get Kane, I think Lautaro Martinez would be the next best bet. He's been a player I'd like to see us get for a couple of seasons now.

If we could get Kane, Onana and Mount, I'd be delighted with that window. While we'd still have gaps in the squad, all 3 would drastically improve things we were not so good at last season. We'd get goals from our striker, more pressing from our midfield and the ability to play with a higher line with out keeper.

Ginge, I’m not ETH. I trust the judgement of ETH.
The End.

Osimhen would be my first choice, but too expensive. Failing that, Sesko with Marcus Thuram as backup.

Sesko WILL cost more than he should, but I think he'll be worth it in the long run.

There isn't exactly a dearth of world class strikers around at the moment, maybe five at the most, and maybe only two are kind of available and will cost £100m+.

Maybe we should stick to develop the next generation, and whether we like it or not, Greenwood will be back next year.

Funny that Sesko never gets a mention in the media. One of the few we aren’t linked with lol.

{Ed014's Note - sorted it for you ??

Fizz……lighten up for God’s sake.

2 years ago, or even 1 year ago, I’d have said Kane without a doubt. But the fact remains that despite him been a prolific goalscorer, his age is going to start going against him pretty soon I reckon. And for the money that Levy is going to want for him I just don’t think it makes sense anymore. Spurs will undoubtedly come off best in any negotiation and that is something that we are trying to avoid. So for me, I think Kane will go down as a striker we missed the boat on, much like Shearer and David Hurst in the past.

So who would I go for? Well I’d want a striker in the 24-25 year old mould who’s preferably played in the premier league. The problem with Osimhen, and the other names mentioned is that they are all a bit of a gamble. It’s difficult……but I reckon I’d take a punt on Tammy Abraham. He holds the ball well and is a good finisher. Age is on his side and I reckon he could kick on with us.

Did you just compare tammy abraham to Eric Cantona? Surely not or were you talking about Djemba Djemba?

Depends on the budget surely. I don't believe a top class striker alone fixes much. It's not like the players we had were missing guilt edge chance after guilt edge chance.

Most of the chances we missed were similar chances you see missed in every game by both sides.

I think that as a team our style of play isn't where it needs to be to allow us to dominate games and create the top quality chances needed to bury teams.

For that we need a striker who can run the channels, hold up the ball and link play as well as find the back of the net themselves.

But just as important is both a keeper who can play out from the back and sweep up behind the defence to allow the team to press higher, AND a mobile tactically intelligent No.8 who can press intelligently off the ball and progress it well on the ball.

If we don't get all three players capable of that then we won't improve to where we need to be.

For that reason budget is vitally important when picking out who we should sign. If money is no object then get Kane and a younger player like Hojlund.

However, if we need to be more financially savvy then we probably need to stay away from the 100m strikers.

No-one mentions Sesko, Ahmad? I take it you weren't around for the entirety of last summer lol.

Shappy I think a top striker solves quite a bit, goals win games. If we can get a 30 goal striker we can challenge. Without one we will struggle to get top 4. There are going to be 5 or 6 teams challenging for 3 spots.

I wasn’t comparing Eric to Tammy Abraham no. There’s obviously no comparison is there.

My point was that before we signed Eric there was tons of negativity about us going after him. But he turned out a legend. Not saying TA will either, but we need a striker and he’s scored nearly a 100 goals without having a regular home.

5 spots next year for cl qualifications i believe for pl. I think spurs are gone so chelsea and liverpool back in the mix. I would venture to say city, arsenal, united, nc, chelsea, liverpool will fight for 5 spots.
