Could the hold up in the alderwiereld deal be that he's just enjoying his holidays?

Spurs haven't strengthened yet and the windfall from the toby deal will help them do that.

Nope, Ed002 told us at the start of the summer that our valuation and Spurs’s are very far apart. Spurs have no interest in selling him unless they get well over the odds. We either pay far too much, or look elsewhere.

There isn’t really that much benefit signing a player now or last week if the player is still on holiday and won’t be training with the squad yet anyway. I still think we will sign a couple of players and they will be training with the squad more or less the same as our own wc players. There seems to be a lot of panic on the site with the season 2 weeks away, but if we had signed toby on July 1st he still wouldn’t be with the other players yet.
