Saw Carrick being interviewed by fat-boy Merson for his fantasy football show. What a thoroughly nice bloke. Honest, determined, driven and intelligent. Nice line in self-deprecating humour as well. Got most of his coaching badges already. Hope he makes a success of any future coaching/ management role.

Just goes to show you can have a long, successful career as a professional footballer, without having to play silly games with the media, or be an ar$ehole. One of our longest serving players, and I feel like I know very little about him. Pretty refreshing to be honest.

He seems really level headed. I was glad to hear he's signing a 1 year extension for his presence in the dressing room.

Unfortunately he will probably never make it as a top manager in this country because he's English. Ridiculous as it sounds.

Not sure his is interested in management, he has always said he would like to go into motorsport after his football career ends as he is a huge F1 fan.
