To repky to a post from Stand united, I couldn't agree more with him. Everything he wrote is what I have been saying. RedMan also pointed this out several times.
We are going to struggle to get 4th spot without a striker and a CB. Total madness and lvg and Giggs must be either blinkered or stupid not to see that we're in dire need to strengthen in these positions.
As for ddg, what the he'll are we doing? The guy wants to go and Madrid want him. Let him go, get £25 and buy another top keeper. As it stands, we go to the first match with a totally new keeper and loads on here think we'll be OK!!
I have very big reservations about our chances of even making top 4.

Are RM willing to splash £25m or have they offered a derogatory amount? I don't know the answer but it may not be as simple as accepting £25m? I agree we look lightweight at CB and perhaps up front, I'm hoping we address that before the window closes.

Schmidfield,

Too many believe the hype, are thinking Memphis is already the finished article, it is all too like some of the later SAF years when the club didn't want to spend big money. However i see weakness in the first team. If we get to the close of the window without a top quality forward and I include Bale in that plus a CB I will take a step towards Beasts position on LvG.

I make no bones about it we need top quality in those two areas and Pedro is good but not the very top level and would only get him if a top striker comes in as well.

On DDG until the window closes his head will not be in the right place. We approach the point now where we need to bite the bullet and buy another keeper and either sell DDG for what we want or dump him in the reserves.

LvG needs to remember the previous incumbent thought he had longer than he really did, he needs to be decisive this window or he will be lucky to end the season in charge.

i said he could be gone by feb the other day and that was before ddg downed tools .
unless lvg goes out and spends another 100mil that could be the case.

he lasted untill the end of march at munich so could be the same as that

Red man. Couldn't agree more. I'm worried we're putting to much pressure on depay. He's not a centre forward. He played most of his games for psv out wide. He's a similar player to Hazard.
Rooney will not suddenly become a prolific striker. I'm a rooney fan but if we're going to depend on him and Wilson to be our main strikers, then we're going to be disappointed.
Cb is a big problem also. We've had two years to buy a descent cb and come up with nothing. If Blind okays at cb then we'll get found out.

Fergie would not have lasted 12 months with you guys. Some people on here are in danger of becoming like 'pool fans in their expectations and knee jerk reaction. I fully support the manager/club in their stance re RM/ddg etc. No one knows what kind of shenanigans has gone on with unsettling him. If he wants to go then fine but on our terms and not anyone elses- when we're ready and have replacements organised.

Give it a rest, what absolute horse crap! There are 23 days left in the window, your name should be Nopatience, since you changed it. DeGea will leave I'm pretty sure of that, Romero is a perfectly good keeper, whether long term or until a different first choice is brought in, which will probably be Lloris, by all accounts. We will sign a CB, who that is I'm not sure, and Pedro will more than likely sign. I don't see a CF coming unless it's a back up if Hernandez goes, as we probably won't play 2 up top much this season, and Rooney will be the one, when fit. Next summer will be when we bring in a top striker to eventually replace Sir Wayne of Rooney, the legend and God like being, I think.

Now calm down, take your pills and let's get behind the boys for tomorrow eh?!

Burgerbrains

If you had read my posts previously you would know I supported SAF through the tough times at the beginning of his tenure but he was not above criticism particularly in his latter years.

It will be ok using the full extent of the transfer window to sort out the areas needed as long as we don't lose any points and get through the qualifier. However how long will it take to bed the new players in? The later they arrive the later they settle.

Let's hope LvG has the right level and type of players in mind to give us a chance this season because as it stands the team is not good enough to challenge at the top no matter how much spin is put on it

Come on lads, let's not talk about the manager being sacked before a ball has been kicked! I thought I was on the lfc page there for a minute.

i fully agree with that .
also for others i have said many times that a manager needs time but the sacking of moyes after 9 months shows that a manager won't get that at united anymore.

lvg has spent a vast amount and has said himself a title challenge is expected.
who he still be in a job now if he had finished 5 ?

things have changed at united like it or not

I hear you red man,I agree it takes time for players to bed but it has to be the right player, agreed? No point in buying a player for the sake of it, it has to be the right player, a man utd player and if that type of player is not available then they're not available$ We've been linked with so many players year in year out, last year it was yann m'villa. we couldn't survive without him. this year it's hummels/ramos. And talking about scaking the manager at this stage shows what some of our fans have become and I find that a bit unsettling having been a fan for close to forty years. The constant haranguing the eds for answers etc. We should enjoy and support our club our history and our class and let the manager/conduct their business in a manner in which they know the supporters are behind them. This time last year woodword was the devil reincarnate, thsi year he's a demi god. What difference a year makes.
