Just wanted to come over and say that schneiderlin is a fantastic signing for you. Wasn't and am'nt convinced that schweinsteiger was necessary or will cut it at this stage (but we'll see) but in Herrera and Schneiderlin you have a really good midfield duo for years to come whoever plays along side them.

I do have one question though. talking to man u fans I know they seem to be putting a lot of pressure on depay expecting him to set the league a light. Now I study in Holland so was there last year and saw him live a couple times and a lot on the telly and he is a truly incredible talent but I don't think you could rely on him and think you definitely need another big striker/attacking player to take some pressure off him. I definitely do not think he will be ready to play as a striker in the premier league yet either. doesn't have the intelligence in his movement but that should come. But my question basically is what do you expect of him? I think if you play him out wide and ease him into being a key player (if that makes sense) you will see a solid first season with 5-10 goals and assists but it will benefit him a lot more going forward I feel.

I'm here in peace by the way not looking to be ripped apart!

i expect him not to be scared to take on a player and to be able to go past a man. 10 goals and ten assists would be good. i expect him to play on the left as an inside forward cutting in and possibly switching flanks on the fly.

For me I just want him to play without fear, if he takes people on he has the talent and pace to rip teams apart and his final product looks decent as well. If he contributes to 10-20 goals this season I'll be made up

I'm expecting Depay to offer something this season but not to see the best of him for at least 18months. I'm not banking on him reaching the same level as Hazard but I'd like to see a similar rate of progression that Hazard showed since leaving France.

I think Schweinsteiger will cut it, did you think Gerrard couldn't cut it when he got to 30? I think Schweinsteiger is arguably a better talent, has won more and in my opinion was always a player that would stay at Bayern like Giggs and United and Gerrard at Liverpool (oh wait), so I am delighted that he has signed.

The part about Depay I agree with mate, I think he is a huge talent but needs to be managed correctly, he is a winger and best used going at players so may be used sparingly as a striker but we need another striker signed so that he does not have to play that role very often. Ashley Young was one of our best players last year remember, with a top centre half and a striker we would have 2 great options in all positions, something we certainly haven't had for about 5 years.

Hey ShaneK, Fair post. We are all excited to have a really good midfield after long. More importantly, they have different strengths to complement each other.

Considering that it is depay's first season in england, a goal + assist tally of 15(+) should be a good one.

Schweini. Apart from his experience which will be great for our team and youngsters, I believe he will make depay, rooney, ADM immensely effective in the counterattacks with long looping accurate passes on the break. Though, He has had some medical issues in prev seasons. So, hoping LVG manages him well.
