Sorry if this has been asked but is there any other interest in gundogan other than from United? I would hate to see him at a rival!

Arsenal and Bayern apparently

A couple of papers have suggested Bayern and Arsenal. Gungodan for the reported £15m is a steal, I really hope we get him as he would provide cover for Carrick. I would imagine he will play in a 3 of Gundogan--Carrick-Herrera I the short term with a longer term view of taking Carricks position. However one of the Eds mentioned last week he has always had the luxury of a strong DM next to him.

I heard Bayern but I can't believe they need another midfielder!

Genuine question, I hope you guys don't mind me posting here :)
It's about Gundogan, and he looks likely to join United. But don't you guys think that he kind of plays the same role as Herrera? Box to box, linking play and providing good passing while also defending with the team? I've always thought of it like that. You have Herrera, and he's been very good the last couple of weeks. That's why I think you need more of a robust defensive/holding midfielder.
Any of you agree?
Cheers :)

Jackson, I think Gundogans a good player that would enhance our squad as long as he is over his injury problems. I personally think we need two ck's and would love to see someone like Vidal signed, or carvahlo. Morgan schneiderlins another option

I agree he plays a similar role but that's why I think he would work well with Herrera in front of carrick. Both do a similar job at different sides of the pitch

I'd be inclined to agree that he'd do well along with Herrera in front of Carrick. But Carrick's getting on in age (though he relies on his brain rather than physicality so that should help him a lot). If I were you I'd really want United to sign a Verratti type midfielder, or a player in the Schneiderlin/Javi Martinez mold (personally I loved Martinez before the big injury, hope he can bounce back from that). As a fan of a rival team, I wouldn't be really concerned by Gundogan arriving since you already have a standout player in that role. But add a dominant holding midfielder and I'd be worried ;-)
Just my opinion of course.
