Boy are the doom and gloom brigade out in full force. And its the same old comments once again, without actually watching what happened on the pitch. Just form your conclusions and then try to shove the evidence within it kind of approach. Nobody seems to have seen three open chances being missed while they were not allowed as much as a sniff. A game which should have ended 3-0 ends up as 0-0 and everyone loses their minds.

Yes, Ashley Young isn't the best of players (and I know most of us don't like him including me), but he DID make a very good impact when he came on. Like it or not, he did much more in 15 mins than Kagawa did in the rest of the game on the wing, put in a cross to Van Persie which had goal written all over it and Van Persie had an off day in terms of finishing and could not finish the chance off, happens.

It WAS a penalty, yes it was soft, but he WAS pulled back by the defender and he went down. This is how it is in Europe unfortunately, way less contact is allowed and it will be given as a foul. So Young created another chance, and the penalty was missed by RVP.

Kagawa threaded a nice nutmegged pass to Chicharito who could not finish it off, for some reason. Its the Champions League and its these half chances that decide games.

A game which should have been a 3-0 win for us ended up being a 0-0 draw.

Sorry, but there is no fault at David Moyes' door for this one, his changes DID work during the game, the plan was to rest the likes of Jones, Cleverley, Carrick, RVP, and give Rafael time to recover from his injury which Moyes did. The League is more important right now so the game against Arsenal is our biggest of the season so far, win that and we are right back in the title race.

Everyone seems to be falling into the trap of "Moyes is a defensive manager and this is not what Sir Alex would have done, not how he would have played." Sorry guys, but this is exactly how Sir Alex would have approached an away tie in Europe with an eye on the Arsenal game at the weekend.

The performance was no different than what it was under Sir Alex for the last few years and it won't change until the players Moyes wants are signed by the club. We are still top of the group mind you, maybe some of you need to be reminded of it.

Look every season the top teams have a blip, drop points here and there and things go wrong.

But come on guys, your team needs a proper overhaul, which has been delayed to long, it happens to all teams but for a club your size it has been left way to long. We need to replace a few of the old guard, I know that but you without doubt have the longest list of what you might call dead wood.

Your current run is off the back of poor performances against poor teams, Real Sociadad arguably the weakest team in the UCL and no matter that you had 3 great chances, you were poor against them.

I don't believe you have the players this year to do anything, like I said in a previous post, everyone wants a piece of you and Rooney giving it large in the paper about Arsenal is not doing you any favours. I'm still at a loss that some of you think he is back.

It's not the points between you and 2nd that is your problem, it's the 7 teams playing well ahead of you that's your problem.

Haha welcome back marcellus, did Chelsea win a game? Back to tell us how poor we are compared to the great chelsea?

Yes all those great teams playing far better than us, cruising to a 3 point gap lol.
I would suggest out of the 7 in front only arsenal are playing consistently, I see today mour is calling out ANOTHER player this time Hazard, interesting times at the bridge, with a manager fighting any player with a bit of flair and the team being so inconsistent.
Hows those little doubts going? Still in denial?

M wallace, why to you take more satisfaction from uniteds failures than chelseas success? i'm a chelsea fan btw

6.) 07 Nov 2013
I am begining to wonder if Wallace is a disenfranchised, former player lol

The number of closet Manchester United fans is alarming. We had Blur Mayne and now the indomitable Marcellus "I get inspired by mafia movies" Wallace. Get in son! I know you can't wait to unleash your secret "I knew United would turn it around" vest. On another note, are you not fed up of regularly getting "owned" in here? So much for your love for United. Take a bow son!

Deeps. {Ed002's Note - The problem is that fans of certain clubs (specifically LFC and MUFC) simply cannot cope with good old banter. There responses head immediately toward abuse. You need to suck it up and deal with it having a smile on your face (not you specifically Deeps but the LFC and MUFC fans in general) or it'll just get cut.}

Deeps u forgot the very scary anthill mob, HE used to makeme laugh

9.) 07 Nov 2013
Will keep that in mind ed 002 :) . I try my best not to mix banter and abuse. I know your comment was not aimed at me per say, but my apologies for any dis-tasteful replies that I may have made. I do find Marcellus' obsession with all things United a wee bit funny.

I hope the travelling isen't a huge pain anymore ed 002.

Deeps. {Ed002's Note - It is about to be, but thanks.}

Marcellus, I will answer para by para

1. No arguments there, spoken sense for once haven't you?

2. Where in my post did I say that we do not need to improve? Or that the old guard need not be replaced? Please read through the posts, not a single United fan, not even the most optimistic of us are blind to that fact.

3. Over the course of the season we will play the same 19 teams at varying points of time. Comparison before having played the required 38 games is pointless.

Sociedad did not have a sniff at goal, we created 3 genuine goalscoring opportunities, rested our players for the big game at the weekend, controlled the game for large parts, how on earth was that POOR? It was an average performance which would have been good had the chances been taken. Chelsea at the weekend against, Newcastle, now that Marcellus is poor.

4. This para is, as you clearly state, your "belief" and from what I see has no resemblance to reality whatsoever. You have fallen into the trap of reading the headline, read what rooney said in full and try to comprehend and maybe you will see the light?

Is Rooney back to his best? No. That was pre 2010, he will never get to that level. But he is back to the maximum level to which he can perform with the abilities he has post 2010, suggesting otherwise is simply ignorance. Jose mourinho whom you seem to worship so blindly chased him for the best part of the summer window, I wonder why.

5. Who exactly is playing way better? I agree Arsenal are. The rest are merely blowing hot and cold and nobody has really been out of this world or consistent. I would rather say that you (and the other teams excluding Arsenal) should be worried that you have failed to establish any significant gap to a United side which has not played anywhere near the best of its abilities while you have, by your own admission been playing "well ahead".

The points have never been our problem you see, in fact that is the one thing in our favor right now. If only a 3 points gap is what you can achieve after playing "well ahead" then I feel quite confident about this season actually since I have no doubt we will improve. Thanks for giving us confidence.
