Fonte for £8m?
Not bad business but a little underwhelming.
He could definitely be the talker of the defence and organise Smalling or Bailly.

If it happens I think. it will be nearer 10m but still think. it is not bad business. He is a leader and will organise the defence which is what we have been asking for. Think. him and Bailly could be a good combination
. not sure where it would leave Smalling/ Jones though.

I think we will have to sell Rojo and Scweini to balance he squad if this happens. Not a bad signing. Prefer Garay.

I'd prefer Garay but Fonte could be a useful stop gap of sorts.
It would be surprised if it happens without a number of outgoings.

Garay has managed to get over 30 caps for his country who happen to be pretty good and won league and cup titles in 4 countries as well as being hard as nails which is what we need. Fonts has experience here though which may give him the edge if Jose does feel the need to dip in to the market again. Let's be honest, we would all prefer Varane if we can get him!

Fonte great organiser talker and leader in defence - exactly what's needed at the moment. Great stop gap signing if it comes off.
