Hello,

Does anyone know much about Rentaro Sanches? I've seen some YouTube clips but that's the extent of my knowledge. I also know he's a midfielder but which side does he play? Also do we think there's any genuine interest from Utd or is it paper talk?

Thought I'd ask as the search had no results. Cheers.

Well he's a pretty short midfielder, can play centrally but think he's made for the number 10 role just off the striker ideally. Can play on both wings if needed but not natural there (right footed so LVG would obviously play him on the left), good vision and seems to make decent decisions given his age and inexperience. It's his first season in the senior team so has only played a handful of games, seems to have great talent but whether it's genuine realistic potential or not is still up for debate for me personally

How high is the interest? I'm not sure. We were there to watch Guedes and/ or Eliseu but rumour is he caught the eye. Demitri Mitchell and him had a moment on instagram which is where the rumour originated in the media, right before Mitchell deleted the post, but he has been watched

Potential for it to happen but a lot depends on price is guess as they're looking for a Martial type deal it seems. I'd be doubtful but you never know, we've paid through the nose for potential before now.

Memphis seemed to make good decisions given his age and inexperience in a different, lower level league but as we've seen that can change when coming to the premier league. This isn't the type of player we should be looking for.

A right sided winger like Berardi would make much more sense. Then a CB, these should be our main concern.

I have read that he is more a deep-lying playmaker playing in a Carrick position. I havnt seen him play however. Hope this helps.

Deep lying midfieder fron what I've seen breaks it up gets stuck in but also has the ability to break with pace. A fantastic prospect at only 18.

He is quick, strong, tenacious and technically sound. He could play in any position in midfield or even on the wing.

But he is young, and far from ready to play for a top club. He will need to be given time to find his position and develop this skills before he is ready to move to a top team.

He is best of stay in Portugal for another 2-3 years. Even then he would only be 20-21 and have a long career ahead of him. Too many players are given the chance too soon amdnthis results in them never quite fullfilling their potential.
