Right lads, here goes - I'm on the scrounge. You might not know that my mother-in-law passed away in June due to complications with Alzheimers so my wife and 5 other family members are doing a sponsored walk this Saturday to raise money for Alzheimer Scotland. The charity asks that each participant tries to raise £100 and I'm hoping you guys can help out. Any money collected will be shared equally between all 6 of them to help them reach their target.

Stevie - FYI - I'm not on live-chat tomorrow mate. I thought the game was 4pm K/ O, but as it's 12pm that's 2am where I am so I won't be online, I'm so unlucky with these times at the minute. Eds , a bit off topic from the OP, but is there really any benefit from having the agree / disagreement boxes?
The above post is probably the best example yet of how this option is completely misused in many cases.
This is not a whinge or a moan , just an observation.
{Ed001's Note - I don't even look at them personally, but some people like them and we got loads of complaints when we removed them.}

nothing wrong with having agree/disagree boxes because this site is all about opinions which people may or may not share. Maybe it could be improved by only allowing a disagree to be counted if it accompanied with a reason why. I posted 'my opinion' regarding our striker situation this morning, 2 people have disagreed without putting why. They maybe right and i maybe wrong but unless they give their reasoning we can't have a constructive debate which is surely what the banter site is all about.

The fact that ed007 has agreed with me and yet 4 people have disagreed without saying why rather makes my point.
{Ed001's Note - the whole point is that they are there for those who don't have time or just simply do not want to reply. I don't understand why people care? I have never looked at stuff like that, perhaps people should just grow up and stop worrying if people agree or disagree? Better to have the button, rather than just people saying I agree or I disagree as was happening previously. Other than that, who are you to say people should type something? Why should they? They might not care enough to bother getting into a discussion about it, but just want to disagree. On posts like this, I agree we do need to have some kind of system to disable them, other than that, does it matter?}

I thought Janko was well thought of by the club and it seems strange to let him leave permanently.
Let's hope Janko's leaving is because we have a much better prospect already with us (Varela?) or we have a better player coming in.

Does his exit depend on how the qualifiers go ed? Appreciate this is not related to united as haven't seen us linked but asking as always watched out for celtic redults due to my dad (man utd fan) going on and on about jinky johnson who he saw often when worked up there (he apparently was comparable with best).
{Ed007's Note - Your dad has good taste, you should probably listen to him more :) I think VVD will be away from Celtic once the CL qualifiers are done whether we qualify or not, if we do that'll be our slim chance of getting him to stay depending who is in for him.
Utd have an interest but they see him as a squad player and he won't move to sit on the bench so it never really went anywhere which surprised me as LvG spoke to van Dijk before the World Cup and told him how highly he thought of him and that his chance would come. Arsenal and Southampton were the favourites but Arsenal's interest has waned and although clubs like Norwich and Sunderland have been linked I'd say Southampton would be most likely, the clubs have a good relationship after a few deals in recent years that have been beneficial to both clubs.
There was a murmur in Scotland that Man City were interested but I think that was just because of Celtic and Deila's connections with City just now and it made a good headline on a slow day.}

Cheers for the update ed and i would say good luck to celtic for the new season but don't think they need it. At least you can enjoy the farcical sideshow from the blue mob and see how embarrasing it gets this year.
