Looks like we're moving early for cunha. Good addition if it happens.

He’s looked alright the few times I’ve seen him. Although I’ve not seen much. Enough decent teams were reportedly interested to suggest he’s decent.

Would fit nicely into the left 10 role.

That being said, I’ll believe it when I see him holding the shirt and a signed contract. Too many times we’ve been told about signings that are close that never happen.

Could mean the end of Garnacho, but I’d prefer him to stay and be an impact sub for the most part.

Yep a signing that actually makes sense and for a reasonable ish fee and has a couple years of premier league experience.

Someone like Mbeumo for the other 10 position would be ideal but doubt we have the funds for that this summer as well as signing a striker.

Weren’t we linked with him 2 years ago for about £35M from Atletico? Seem to remember it getting ridiculed at the time as he wasn’t seen as good enough.

I think the issue in previous years may have been as we classed as a full on striker, and not sure he was performing that well in that role.

Since moving to wolves he seems to have morphed into a wide attacker or number 10, which seems to suit him more and hence the improved performances.

He’s far from world class, but he would be an upgrade on what we currently have in those spots. Well on paper anyway. We’ve signed players many times before that make sense on paper, but often fail to deliver. Fingers crossed this will be different, if he ends up signing.

He ain’t no world beater, that’s for sure, but is an upgrade and should suit RA, I guess it’s a matter of are the hierarchy going to upgrade now and then upgrade again and try take baby steps forward or will they pay more and go up more levels and try get to the destination faster.
For me it should always be about best in class in last 2 years that was Kane and Rice, we ignored them
So we have no choice but to go with RA and his employers with the direction they want, but certainly RA must be given the tools and if one of them is Cunha then fine, after all ETH was given the dross he wanted.

Cunha is a serious upgrade on what we have and he plays in the RA system already. Not sure what others define as world beater but he's the best player in the most in form team in the league, and consistently performs for them against the top sides.

Cunha looks 100% the right player for what we need now and the situation we are in.
He is 25 so coming into his prime years, not a young player so will add experience. He has some nastyness to him which I am certain we will have issues with at times but will add some grit and desire to the team.
Plays in a position that we keep saying we need an upgrade in so will not need an adaptation period to the system, has 2 years of a certain level of success in the premier league.
Feels right player right time to me.

The reported fee seems a little excessive, but he’d be a great addition to the team. As other have said, he fits the manager’s system far better than any of our current attacking players.

Let’s just hope that the manager’s system comes good.

Looks a good player. But united in recent years has turned into a graveyard for once decent players.

So even if he does come, does he lift it or will we end up adding him to a long list of players that look good before joining us?

Liverpool fan here. I'd be gutted if you got Cunha, seems very well suited to that 10 role in RAs system.

He isn't a big name "world beater", but then when have any of those we have signed ever paid off anyway?

What I like is that he's EPL proven, done very well in a poor to average Wolves side.

He's physical, has a bit of a edge to him, and is tactically as close to a perfect fit for Amorim's system as we could find.

That for me is what is exciting. You can see that we are signing players who fit a vision, rather than a flashy name that'll sell a few more shirts and keep the sponsors happy.

Have to agree Shappy, like I said he is no world beater and not top shelf, but it’s where we are shopping these days, but if RA thinks he is what he needs than that’s good enough for me, but of course I got shot down for saying such a thing, but sure your get a love in from a certain individual for saying it…. funny old world.
