Looks like Dorgu could be in.
Lecce's newspaper saying 35m Euros with 5 more as addons. 2m salary rising to 3m.
(He had a 4/ 10 game last weekend according to the Italian press. )
And the rumour I posted a could of days ago has developed somewhat. Ayden Heaven has apparently agreed terms for his move from Arsenal.

Seems the United tax on players is alive and well then.

He follows the obvious new strategy try and bring in younger players with a lot of potential.

Under INEOS we have signed:

Mazraoui (26), MdL (25), Zirkzee (23), Ugarte (23), Yoro (18), Sekou Kone (18), Chido Obi-Martin (17), Samuel Lusale (17), Diego Leon (17), Ayden Heaven (18) and now Patrick Dorgu (20).

That's 11 signings under the new regime, 7 of them are 20 or younger.

Add that to some of the other talented young players we already had in the first team squad (Mainoo, Garnacho, Amad, Højlund, Collyer) .

Along with an academy with a super talented record breaking group of players that could be looking to break into the first team over the next few years.

At some point along the line they forgot to add any actual quality for the now.

Last weekend they played Inter and Dorgu was good, arguably their best player. But they got beat proper by a vastly superior side so difficult to judge. It is the game before that which he was poor.

Spenno,

Our CEO has explained the plan and what they are aiming to build towards, seems like with the signings we are making now that we are moving away from the silly expensive players on daft wages and getting players in with better attitudes.

GDS2, I all know that, but I also know none of those signings are going to be remembered for very long.

Shappy, its the best. Also easier to mould the players, get them all singing of the same hymn sheet. Also allows a better sell on possibility should they not work out. Very positive.

We clearly overpaid for dorgu, but at least his reported wage is a good deal.

29 Jan 2025 09:41:32
According to Fav it's €30 mill with €5 mill in not guaranteed add ons. 6ft 1 and supposedly rapidly, with an unreal engine. Will it work out who knows but seems a far more reasonable expenditure than some of our deals in the past. Now it's whether Rash or Garnacho goes as to if anyone else comes in, I think.

spenno that's a bit too pessimistic. there are some very good players in that list and, with their age profile and salaries, if they don't work out we're likely to be able to recoup the majority of our outlay. that's a considerable improvement.
