I'm reading Weston Mckennie 25 will not be at Juventus next year. I think he is a good player and still has time to fulfill his talent. Any links to United?
{Ed002's Note - No.}

He was rubbish at Leeds, did absolutely nothing to prove he can play for a club higher up the league.
04 Aug 2024 14:15:04
I didn't say he had a good season. He is 25 and he has to throw his career away because of a bad season? He is better than Amrabat and McT, which a lot of fans would accept as squad players.
04 Aug 2024 15:07:21
He sure is ziko a few seem to forget how rubbish our players have been for years.
04 Aug 2024 17:35:47
Is he any worse than some of our not good enough players? Probably not, but he's also probably not any better than them either.
04 Aug 2024 17:50:56
But you don’t just sign someone who is marginally better than the players we have. They need to be significantly better
Buying players like Weston mckennie will prolong the mediocracy at this club, which needs to change asap.

MRT. Spot on. If we want to challenge for the major trophies we need top quality signings only.
04 Aug 2024 18:27:55
Is he better than what we have though? Bang average player. We need to be aiming higher.
04 Aug 2024 18:37:19
I'm not advocating signing him just pointing out he is better than some of our players imo. It's not a player I'd be pursuing to be honest.
04 Aug 2024 19:51:34
I've pointed to him, just because we may sign Amrabat or stick to McT. I'm just saying I prefer him to them, if that's the choice. Of course we need top players, preferably in form. No doubt about that.

He isn't better than McTom, who at circa 60k/ W is the exact type of squad player we require.
{Ed077's Note - and HG and Club-developed. And goal contributions in double digits last season.
04 Aug 2024 20:44:04
Mctom is exactly the type of player we don't need imo.
04 Aug 2024 20:56:15
McT = headless chicken.
04 Aug 2024 22:52:48
Nah, Weston is on a par with Amrabat. He has good qualities but is horribly inconsistent. He is not what we need, he showed in his time on loan in the prem that he wasn't up to it. We shouldn't even be entertaining wasting money on a player of his quality considering its clear funds need to be allocated elsewhere.

Tumble.
Cas or McTom?
Eriksen or McTom?
Hannibal or McTom?
Etc etc etc
There are others that need to leave before McTom, and those others will free up much needed funds for areas that need more attention. I. e. centre back! Where we have the donkey waiting to drag our playing style back to suit his inability as a footballer.

McTominey is never going to be good enough for 1st choice at a club like Utd, but he is a good squad player, who works hard as anything, can cover multiple positions, has spent most of his time in the first time playing out of position without complaint and doesn't expect massive wages. I wouldn't sell him unless a very good offer came in.
Weston wouldn't offer any significant upgrade, and selling a loyal, hard working academy graduate to replace him with a player who isn't any better would be absolutely ridiculous.
05 Aug 2024 11:11:07
Jimbobred - McTom is better than all of those players that you mentioned but McTom is the player that is going to command the biggest fee.
I can't see anyone taking Casemiro, unfortunately I think we are stuck with him.
Eriksen anbd Hannibal will probably get you between 5-10 million each at the max.
If we somehow manage to get De Ligt, Mazraoui and Ugarte over the line and add to that the two already signed in Zirkzee and Yoro for me its a really good transfer window.
Hopefully when Yoro and Hoijland are fit again and everyone hopefully stays fit we will have a really strong squad and should be challenging for top 4.

Mctom out before cas due to the financial rules you don't seem to understand or choose to completely ignore.
05 Aug 2024 11:31:56
McTominay is a good player to have in the squad, he's homegrown, on relatively low wages, and offers something different and niche for certain games.
However, he isn't good enough to be first choice, and he is one of our more sellable players who could actually raise some funds. Ultimately i think it comes down to whether he is happy to continue to be a bit part player at United as he enters his prime years, or whether he wants to move on and play regularly at another club.
If he starts most weeks at a club like Fulham he could get 10-12 league goals this season fairly easily.
05 Aug 2024 12:18:39
I'm not ignoring tumble, I get it, he is HG and the fee would be profit, whereas take Cas, his fee would need to balance the remaining payments left on his transfer to us, before it was a profit, something we are incredibly unlikely to achieve. That said the difference in wages between the 2 must also be a factor in the financial equation, so in that regard, cas' 320+K per week vs 60 for McTom starts to add up to a pretty decent sum, pretty quickly.
My reasons for keeping him over the likes of Cas, is purely because he offers the team more. CAS is cooked, stick a fork in him, he's done.
05 Aug 2024 13:53:48
Tumbleweed - if you read my post i said we probably won't be able to get rid of Casemiro.
We all know the ridiculios wages he earns which is precisely why nobody wants him.

Mckenna is quite average and can't stay fit. He seems to be one of those players who is carrying extra luggage now adaus compared to from his earlier years where he got around the pitch. not United quality and will take mc all day.
