Fulham are about to sign smith Rowe Rowe around 27 million plus add ons and will come back for mctominay. Rumour was they offered 15 1st time around surely he's worth more than him. Mctominay is a much better player, not the standard for us to be a starter, but would come alive at a club like Fulham imo.

Likeable guy mctom. I'd love to see him do well wherever he goes if he does move on.
It's a big wrench leaving United but if he wants to maximise his playing time he needs to leave I think.

He needs to leave because he is simply not good enough.

I’d imagine we get lower fees for our players due to the high wages they’re on, I mean I agree that McTominay is valued more than Emile Smith Rowe but then mctominays wages will be significantly more than than ESR.

I think its time to move on, he’s a hard worker and you can see he gives 100% every time he’s on the pitch, but I don’t think he’s good enough to start for us so for the best of his career, he should move on.

McTominay lacks discipline. He gives away needless fouls at the wrong time.

I'll never forgot his half arsed tracking back against Bayern last season.

McTominay is like AWB for me. There are good reasons to keep them, they work hard and give everything, don't cause problems, have a specific role that they do well.
However, we are moving forward looking for players that are good on the ball, play a certain style more attacking with control. Unfortunately neither of these fit this mould.
You sometimes have to let players go to fund incomings and whilst we could keep these, the benefit of selling and re-investing means we should do this.

McTominay has plenty of positive aspects. He's hard working, has a great attitude, and can be a useful player if used correctly.

He's an ideal squad player, someone who offers something different from the bench, hasn't cost anything, is on relatively low wages, and won't kick up a stink when he's not starting.

That said, at his age now I suspect he'll want to start playing regularly, and while not at the level we need to battle it out at the top of the league, he is more than good enough to be a starter for 70% of the teams in the league.

It's probably time for him to move on and play for a club where he starts most weeks. If played as a No.10 for a club like Fulham I could see him getting 10-12 league goals a season. Which would be massive for them.

The biggest hurdle he has had in his career is that people call out his short comings when he's playing in a position that isn't natural for him.

He played most of his youth career as an attacking midfielder/ No.10, bar one season where he played a run of games as the striker due to there being no one else.

Because of his size he's often been tasked with playing at CDM/ CB, but he has never really been a defensive player, and unfortunately he's not had the quality coaching in the first team to make him a defensive player.

His reading of the game, his positioning are nowhere near good enough, while his passing and technique are average and often exposed in tighter/ busier parts of the pitch (centrally and deeper) .

None of this is his fault and I feel it's not really fair to slate him for it. He is playing out of position without complaining, just sacrificing himself for the team, while doing the best he can.

Hopefully he gets a good move and has a great rest of his career, while United bring in some much needed funds to improve the first 11.

I'd wish him the best and give his a cheer/ round of applause every time he returned to Old Trafford.

McT is a fantastic professional and has never been found wanting. You can point out one example v Bayern. But otherwise, always top, scored an awful amount of goals. Ideally would like to see him kept as he can be an important player for us. But, if we are in the scenario where we need to sell to fund much needed transfers, well it's unfortunate but they will have to sell him. I just hope they get what he is worth.

Nearly always been found wanting for passing ability and positional sense.
