Rumours are he's interested in coming home, the greatest back up keeper in EPL history.

Sergio Romero is interested in rejoining Manchester United after the relegation of his new club Venezia from Serie A.

Would people take him back?

Hell yeah. There was a point he should have been starting.

Strikes me as someone looking for another decent contract before retiring. He'd probably earn more being second choice at United than number one elsewhere. We should sign someone else.

I'd be delighted to have him back. One of oles victims. Now the bell end is gone he would be happier here i'm sure.

He deserved to be the our number keeper. Ddg was abysmal whislt Romero was at the club.

Would love to have him back, great keeper and on a one year contract with option would make sense.

Didnt he struggle to sell his house, think it is still on the market.

I think they employ non-playing staff to look after the finances, Mad Hatter.

Mrs K says she'd love to see him back ?.

Shappy, you seem unhappy with how the Henderson saga has played out?

Romero is a better keeper than Henderson, he's been a consummate professional and always played well when called upon. Would you not be happy with him returning or do you not like him because people prefer him over Henderson?

30 Jun 2022 17:45:03
Mumbles,

I think Henderson should have been given a proper run far sooner than he was. DDG had been poor since 2018/ 19 season.

However, that boat has sailed by the looks of it.

I really liked Romero, and thought he should have been given a chance. I didn't like that he often played all the cup games but was then dropped for the finals. I thought that was out of order.

That said I'm not sure it's best for him to come back after the public spat when he left.

I’d take him as a back up 100%.

I would also sell Henderson once he has a season on loan and does well. From what I have seen I don’t think he is level required to be our number 1 in the long term, and won’t want to play back up to anyone, which is fair enough, I respect that totally.

30 Jun 2022 18:16:31
Getting Romero back would be a great move. The fact he is open to it as well and knows what his role and wouldn’t cause any issues makes it even better.

30 Jun 2022 19:38:18
Sign him on a 1 year deal and see how thing turn out with the Henderson loan. Seeing as there are still doubts over De Gea fitting in to ETH style of play, Henderson may well get his chance if things go well for him at forest.

Shappy, Henderson never been good enough, even on DDG bad days.

Romeo said nothing worse about the club than most fans on here shappy including yourself.

I don't see any harm in the rumour and don't think there is any truth to it
Takes the focus of other uncompleted transfers for 12 hours.
He did leave with a sour ending and probably regrets that episode to some degree.
Most fans will have said worse about the club the owners or coaches and players at some point including All of us.
As a stop gap I'm not sure how fit and agile he is these days so not sure he is even an upgrade on Heaton.
But we are a little short on big characters and experienced senior pros so I'd welcome him back despite the public spat which is not what anybody wants to see.

The rumour comes from an men article. It states nothing about interest from us in the player- it’s pretty much saying he’s a free agent and would probably consider a move back. It’s a nothing piece imo.

Caused a lot of excitement on here though which is tether worrying.
