Quick question, do United have any interest in Lisandro Martinez or are Timber and Torres still the preferred targets?

Fabrizio just reported that Arsenal is trying to sign Lisandro and Salina is still there. If they sign him, we can forget about Timber. Torres isn't good solution in my opinion, he can't play in high back line system, he's slow. Villarreal low back line - fast transition football. We r really going to ruin this super important transfer window.

H94, Torres isn't slow, I think he clocked the highest speed of any CB in la Liga last season.
Admittedly Villareal don't tend to play a high line so it would be an adjustment.
For me the bigger concern is that he isn't particularly physically robust. He can be knocked off the ball too easily for me, and isn't dominant in the air despite being 6'2. Things that could count against him in the EPL.

Already written off Timber. He is not first choice CB for Netherlands (only played 8 times) yet seemingly turning United down due to Van Goal comments on only picking players for the Netherlands who play regularly. Appreciate World Cup year and all that but he's 21. Maybe he thinks United will come in for him again? We shouldn't.

I think if ten Hag wants them they are the right players. He knows better than anyone what he wants so if it’s Timber or Torres so be it. Personally don’t see Ajax selling a bunch of players, and not convinced we’ll strengthen at CB.

I kind of get where you coming from by saying torres is a tall lindelof but fot me he's better on the ball and in the air plus added bonus he's left footed united have struggled with finding someone to play left cb maguire takes to many touches in the left side when on the ball!

Torres is probably better on the ball then Lindelof, probably more mobile and is quicker.
However, I also think he's weaker both in the air and in physical ground duels.
I'm not convinced his skillset suits the EPL which is the most physical league in Europe, and the league that has the most aerial duels.
I don't think Torres is a bad player, just one who's weaknesses could potentially be more exposed in the EPL due to the nature of the game here.

I feel like Torres is club target because his name has been mentioned long before ETH arrived. His price is 60-65m€, we can sell Eric, add that money and go after De Ligt. I'm sure ETH would love to have him. I won't be surprised if we hear "United are showing interest in De Ligt" but two weeks later he signs for Chelsea.
