Rumours of Henderson on loan to Forest?
Makes sense from a Forest point of view, with Samba not signing a new contract.
But a bit underwhelming for Henderson perhaps. Forest will be an unknown quantity as they don't seem to own any of their own players. I assume they'll go for Garner again and eventually they'll have to buy him.

Underwhelming?
He is 25 and played less than 50 epl games or there abouts. I think he should consider himself lucky if a pl team come in for him.

Can't have two loans from the same team in the Premier League which would signal that perhaps Garner has been told he's staying with United.

Game time. for him again gets him out in the market.

I assume its genuine as Simon Stone is reporting it on the Beeb and United love to brief him to post updates on our activity.

We could just actually complete something therefore we could post some actual news.

Didn’t realise the two player loan rule. Surely Forest would rather opt for Garner who was integral to them last season if it’s a choice of the two?

I’d say we will keep Garner.

Ken, half a year ago Henderson was on Spurs’ radar and pushing for the England team. So a likely relegation scrap with Forest might not be what he had in mind when imagining what stories he could tell his grandkids in 20 years. Then again the likes of Pope have maintained a decent stock playing for lowly teams.

I wouldve thought going on loan to a relegation challenger would mean he would see way more action that if he joined a higher team.

It is possible that discussions have been had and there is no option within the PL from clubs higher up the league. You have to consider a fee and his wages would put him out of the reach of most clubs.
Forrest would be a good option for him, he had a good season with Sheffield Utd even though they were struggling.
If he is successful Forrest could flip him in a season for a profit for maybe a Spurs/ Arsenal/ West Ham depending on how there positions look.
Also, Southgate has shown that he does not care if you are playing for a lower club especially in the goalkeeper position so could put him in line for recall if doing well.

Here's what I think will happen.

He'll go to Forest on loan with a 20m buy option.

Tear it up and be a key player in them staying up.

While DDG struggles to get to grips with playing out from the back and being a sweeper keeper.

Forest will then activate the buy option in Henderson's deal and probably sell him off to Spurs or Chelsea for 35m banking a 15m profit and strengthening one of our rivals for top four.

While United then have to search the market for a suitable keeper, probably spending upwards of 40m on a keeper next summer.

All while the press jump all over United for the poor handling of Henderson.

Shappy,

I agree with you. Although I thought he might have been given a chance with EtH who was rumoured to have wanted him on loan at Ajax last season. Perhaps Henderson is ready to move on and isn't prepared to stay.

Giorgi Mamardashvili is the name that keeps cropping up as a potential backup GK signing so I assume he plays more in the mould EtH wants his keepers to.
