I do think he's a useful player, and that we will have to subsidise our rebuild of a few bigger signings and youth promotions with a few astute free or cheaper ones. I don't think every signing has to be 'one for the future' right now.

A wide player who can not beat his man 1 vs 1 and doesn't make runs in behind and also isn't a particularly serious goal threat is not exactly what we need right now.
Also him and bruno in the same team would be hard to watch, just two players hoofing the ball and giving it away for fun.

I find myself on the fence with signing a wide player.
On one hand if we don't then we only have Sancho and Rashford as players with any sort of experience playing those roles at this level.
After them it's Elanga with around 10 games.
Yet on the other hand we currently have Pellistri, Amad, Elanga, Garnacho and Shoretire all waiting in the wings and needing chances to step up.
Them 5 along with Rashford and Sancho gives us potentially 7 players for 2 positions.
I think if we sign another wide player now then how/ when will those youngsters get a chance?
Personally I think Elanga did enough last season to be given a chance.
Then if we keep one of Amad or Pellistri while loaning the other out, and do the same with Garnacho and Shoretire.
Then we have Rashford, Sancho, Elanga, Amad/ Pellistri, and Garnacho/ Shoretire giving us five options for 2 spots in the team.
While not ideal having so many young inexperienced players covering the wide roles, maybe next season with limited expectations could be the best time to blood them in.
Certainly I think CDM, CB, ST, fullback and probably a second second midfielder are all more important. If Henderson leaves then a back up keeper is also more important than a 3rd choice wide player.

I think we're well stocked in the wide areas. I'd love to see garnacho get atleast 20 appearances next season rather than sign someone who will stunt his development. i think 1 striker and concentrate on the midfield and defence.

Ken, do you expect us to win the league next season?
Do you expect us to seriously challenge City and Liverpool for the title? Finish within 5-6 points of the eventual winners.
I think most fans expect top four finish and maybe a good cup run or two. Which is a massive come down from most season's where United fans expect a cup win and a challenge for the title.
I expect most United fans will have higher expectations in EtH second season than his first. After he's had a year to train the players in his style, and after he has had two summer transfer windows and maybe have been able to bring in 6-8 players of his own.

I put LF and RF as the second least priority after GK for us right now. Perhaps ETH sees it differently, if so there is a lot of money to be recouped from flogging some of the incumbents who play there.

Nunez can cut in from the flanks as he has been, I don’t think he needs to be viewed as just a CF. Just as Timber can player CB/ RB. Hopefully a few players who can mix it up a bit.

You may have limited expectations I don't.
I don't consider winning anything an expectation. I never did.
Humble in victory gracious in defeat.
You have a completely different perspective from me on what expectations are and supporting the club mean very different things to us both.
I'm not saying you are wrong for your thought process but it's very far from aligned with mine.

There is no pressure for ten hag imo, we have seen how bad these players have been,
But even with 10 percent more effort we can challenge spurs and arsenal for top 4
But saying that if spurs get the players conte wants they could be a very good side.
We should be looking at a EL run and aiming for top 4 but i just want to see better football and the players actually showing they give a crap.
Its not a quick fix.

Ken, the comment was very simple.
Are your expectations for Manchester United next season the same as they were Under Sir Alex?
Most United fans, or at least it seemed that way, expected a title challenge this season.
Probably not unreasonable given that the previous manager had three years to build his squad.
Your expectations for this season certainly weren't met, in fact your expectations under Ole weren't met at all.
You complained every time we lost a semi, and you did after we lost the EL final.
You expected more. You expected to win.
If you didn't expect more at that time then you complaints at that time were little more than digs at a manager you didn't like rather than genuine concerns and disappointment at missing our on silverware.
So don't say you don't expect United to win things and to challenge for titles.
I guarantee you that if United under EtH play entertaining football, and the players give 100%, but in 3 years time we still haven't got close to winning anything, then you'll be calling for the managers head and saying he isn't good enough to be a United manager based on his inability to win things.
