Ed, can we get a list of targets for forward positions if possible or do you think that is likely to change and United will wait for Ten Hag to have a say?

Thanks.

Harry Kane (S) Manchester City will be back if they cannot signed either of their two preferred choices, but I suspect they can. I expect Manchester United may bite the bullet and make a significant offer, initially including a couple of players - would have been possible with Pochettino. Could stay if Spurs make the Champions League or follow Pochettino to Madrid perhaps?
Alexander Isak (S) Will move elsewhere.
Erling Braut Haaland (S) Heading elsewhwere.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (S) with Everton in need of adding a striker the chances of DCL being sold unless a very significant offer arises are small. However, Arsenal are still looking for a striker and interest remains. The Real Madrid coach has said he is one of the rare English players who he thinks would take to football on the continent - so there may be interest. Other clubs looking for a striker such as Spurs have other preferred options. Manchester United may also provide an option.
Patrik Schick (S) Bayer Leverkusen do not wish to sell but know the interest of Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and others could see the price rise significantly. Interestlingly, whilst all have a declared interest, none have him as their first choice. West Ham and Manchester United have both sent scouts to watch him although seem unlikely destinations.
Youssef En-Nesyri (S) West Ham and Manchester United apparently, via a third party, have made an approach to ask about availability and price for the player who has done well this season, but has mot set the world alight previously. Will be off the AFCON when it comes around. Makes little sense given Sevilla are not looking to sell and would demand around €50M but there remains the thought both sides could will look again. It would be doubtful he would be a starter for Manchester United. Arsenal has also shown interest in the player as a replacement for Lacazette but have other preferences.
Hugo Ekitike (F) Versatile forward has done well in the few months playing in Ligue 1 but nothing like enough to earn a step up two the Premier League. It is unclear who recommended him to Newcastle but they offered well over the odds to sign him in January to no avail. West Ham, Spurs, PSG, Chelsea and others have sent scouts - with Chelsea having an ex-player take a look as well. Manchester United have also sent scouts. High risk. This could go horribly wrong for someone.
Darwin Nunez (S) Benfica don't want to sell Nunez but they have had serious interest from several sides. Long term followers Manchester City enquired about Darwin Nunez again last summer were told he won't be available before the summer of 2022. He is not their preferred choice but they could yet return with a good offer if they cannot sign either of their preferred choices. Borussia Dortmund are also keen on him as an option to replace Haaland when he leaves in the summer, but they have a preferred choice and price is likely too high for them. Bayern Munich could cash in on the last year of Lewandowski’s contract in the summer and look to a replacement – but they have several other options in mind. Milan have a sustained interest and tried to sign him before he moved to Benfica, but significant financial issues mean they will need to sell other assets as they have other players they wish to add as well - and he is the most expensive of their primary Ibrahimovich replacement targets – they can be discounted as I expect Ibrahimovic will stay another year anyway. Manchester United had a very high-end scout and ex-Premier League player look at him on several occasions on their behalf but would need to be in the Champions League to even be considered. Barcelona have enquired, knowing that signing their preferred option is difficult, but were told they would have to pay his full €150M release clause to sign him. Inter want to replace Alexis Sanchez with Nunez but moving on Sanchez is a serious problem for them – he has no value and will want to see out his contract on his last major salary in Europe. Suarez will leave Atletico in the summer, and they might provide a viable solution – but they would not be able to pay his release clause and could only make something happen if Benfica would accept more than one player as part of the deal. Brighton, West Ham, Newcastle and Arsenal have shown an interest but are far from attractive options and most certainly a step back - although Arsenal might push if they make it in to the Champions League. Chelsea have scouted Nunez and he has been recommended by an ex-player who was approached to be the new Sporting Director - but it is unlikely the club will push unless Lukaku leaves permanently. Do not rule out a bid from PSG where I suspect he may end up. Scouts from many other sides, including Roma and Spurs have been watching a number of Benfica players - including Nunez. I am not aware of interest from Liverpool, nor where he would fit in without a change of tactics. Benfica will look to achieve at least €80M.
Lautaro Martinez (S) Inter don't want to sell and long-term admirers Barcelona and Manchester City are looking elsewhere although Barcelona would still like to add him in the summer, but significant sales would still be required. Real Madrid are trying to convince Inter to sell and will offer an assortment of players they no longer want in exchange. Atletico Madrid are interested if he becomes available but money would be an issue without a major sale - perhaps Joao Felix. There is support for him from an ex-Chelsea player who was a potential Director of Football at the club but he would be a little down the list of targets Chelsea has as they look to add a second striker. PSG could look to him if they lose Mbappe, which they probably will. Interest of Spurs and Arsenal will go nowhere as the player would also want Champions League football and the expectation to be challenging and winning. Agent has been in London and Madrid talking to Premier League clubs including Manchetser United. A move to Spain will be preferred if Inter can be persuaded to sell.
Sebastian Haller (S) Inter are interested in the revived Haller - Ajax will resist a sale. I am not aware of any approach by Manchester United.}

Basically no one wants to come to us. I will stay clear of DCL.

So no chance of Nunez if we don’t get CL? That’s a game changer as most fans are rooting for him.

Thanks Ed002

Seeing that Jonathan David not listed so guessing either we’re not looking at him.

I'd love Lautaro Martinez.
Darwin Nunez's link up play and first touch are suspect, so should be careful not to overpay for him.

Isak, Gianluca Scamacca and Belotti are few the club should have looked to imo.
